Who'd be interested in playing in a TC v Red and White Online forum match on the weekend of April 18/19?

The match is Sat, so what about playing on the Sunday, and maybe have a BBQ afterwards?

I'll start getting things underway with RWO if there's some interest. Pauly, Clint, I'm looking your way!

after all the hubbub about how shit the dome deal is and how we're gonna stick it up collo we end up losing one of MCG games in this carrara joke. good luck to the membership department. gonna have their work cut out for them with only 4 melbourne based home games in the first 14 rounds.

on the upside, we only have to play all four of this years preliminary finalists once. also happy that we get the bulk of our travelling out the way early. 6 friday night games... the afl showpiece, is great news for sponsors and therefore us as well. shows how much back in favour we are. 8)

My early prediction:

13 and 9

That should give us a position on the ladder of around 6.

Good effort, I'll be rapt with that. We have done really well to not play the top 4 teams twice. I think the Swans are on the way down as well as Adelaide so I'm glad we play them twice.

Can't complain about that. Haven't got Geelong, Hawthorn, Dogs, Saints, or Roos twice. They were the top 4 + 6th? last year.

Does anyone know which is our designated away game for members to get free entry in to?

Interstate games:

All except West Coast, + 'home' v Fremantle at Carara.

Great fixture. Very happy. I'm happy because Carlton plays 22 rounds when only 2 years ago we were in a worse situation than Fitzroy.

Only complaint would be we don't get a crack at Geelong and Hawks twice. It would be good for our development; a good measuring stick.

We should end up in the Top 5 if we can get Judd and Warnock (good ruck and mid combo), and perhaps a few #1 Drafts like Murphy, Gibbs and Kreuzer (good ruck mids combos).

Blue Skies.

My expectation is Top 4. (Cats, Hawks, Doggies and Blues).

And the winner is SY-DE-NEY; Lets smash em.

Long way ahead but at this stage, put me down as a tentative certainty.....

Nope.

No good.

I'm putting you down that you're coming up. And playing the next day.

The more the merrier up here, by the way, there are heaps of us up in Sydney. Let's make enough Navy Blue atmosphere to make it seem like a home match.

And again, all the draw analysis that's out there, with respect to BrizzyBlue, should simply not have to be.

What is really being analysed is the stupidity and injustice of the competition.

Ooohh, some teams travel interstate less than others.
Ooohh, some teams only have to play this year's finalists only once.
Ooohh, some teams still get all those blockbuster games.
Ooohh, some teams don't travel until round whatever.
Ooohh, some teams don't meet until round 20.

I'm grateful I love the game, but the competition is ridiculous on so many fronts.

And BTW, teams that finish friggin' eighth don't deserve a sniff at the flag!!

What do you want the AFL to do?

Increase the season to 30 weeks? So teams can have 25 weeks of tanking?

Reduce the number of teams to 12? Not going to happen in an expansion era.

There is no option to have a 'fair' draw.

When was the last time a team was really hard done by the draw? If you're good enough you'll make the Top 4. If you're not, then using the draw as an excuse is a cop out.

Me too. Out of all interstate matches we love travelling up to QLD. We'll be booked for the Gold Coast match for sure.

Drop pre-season farce, drop split round, and then we're getting close to what is right and proper. A fair competition.

If the quarters need to be reduced to, let's say, 17 minutes, do it.

It wouldn't work. Teams still have to have a preseason to be ready for the H&W season and you still have the issue of teams tanking for 25 weeks of the season.
