Exactly.

Lets move on to celebrating the team we have starting to gel together.

Pro: Russell - I had written him off as an AFL player. That last 1/4 he showed more poise and grunt then he has in his whole career. I hope I can say I was wrong very soon.

Grigg - Great run in the last 1/2

AB - Great grunt work and run

Gibbs - Showed why we rated him as the best player of his age. Pantsed an absolute star player in all areas of the ground

Stevens - copped a belting last week from his fans (dservedly) - was down due to a close checking game. Had a huge last 1/4 and showed committment
Armfield- spurred on by a great interview during the week.

Hampson, Murph, Krooze (NRS), Browne, T-Bird, Waite, Setanta,

We weren't woeful for 3 1/4s. Our finishing was woeful. We had the better of possession but our forawrd structure was awful. We fixed that in a 1/4

PRO
Wiggins-
Very very important player
We look so much better when he plays forward and I actually can relax when the ball is in his hands- we looked listless without him and I thought he made a real impact when he camr on
I know many on here are quick to write off players like him and Bannister, but just like Banno turned his career around I reckon Wiggins has too.

PROS
An important step in the team's 'learning to win' education.
Young talent starting to play like men: Murph...hard as nails, Gibbs...pantsed Chad Cornes... Grigg... put his body on the line in the last... Kruezer... matchwinner... JR... finding his place in the game.
We're on track for 10 wins, which is a fair step in the right direction.
Judd. Pretty much BOG and he's not even fully fit yet.

CONS
Why bother searching them out after a win like that?

PRO's: Singing the song at Footy Park, and not one feral inbred Port person looking at me

GIBBS...yeehaa, JUDD you star, Kruez, JR !! Murph

The Carlton noise at Footy Park ( I was in the members ) and the noise and colour was magnificent !!

Beating the Chad...

Ringing 5AA on Tuesday and telling KG he was wrong !! (sorry a SA thing)

CONS;

My Carlton scarf got wet, and that's it !!

BOG: Grigg
WOG - wheres eddie ?

Pro: Simpson, Setanta, Judd, Bentdick, Chief Wiggins, Gibbs played well all game, even more so in the first 3/4 - they just didnt have the pressure and support and a team effort around them like they did in the last quarter, krooze helped that as well moving forward winning the game well done.

I couldnt see much from the tv and beer, BUT what I did notice that Grigg was our go to man and making I dont know countless inside 50's, some shanks some ok.. But that won me as he was doing it all game. And what a last quarter.

Im going to have to buy myself a set of jumpers and get all the numbers on if they all keep showing this heart against this adversity

- remembered we did this to Essendon* in round 3 year or two ago
- We have a got a good roll on Port lately
- We dont seem to lose many last halfs of football, it just we start poor and finish strong, and that was re enforced again tonight.

Murphy casting off something and kicking like it aint no thing but a chicken wing sweet.

Desperation to try and stop a goal that resulted in two touches on the line

- Thought Waitey playe well today, wasnt rushing or thinking about a lot of things, found some poise dare i say it ? but im bit biased with the wayward kicker. Go son.

Con:

None apart from turn overs, and disposal errors I thought the blues tried to play a very tactical game. sure they didnt match the score board. But we applied pressure wore them out and smoked em in the last. like Ali

ARMFIELD - please someone correct me if I am wrong. this is his 2nd game right ? and we won. I didnt see him in the middle of the circle for the song...

Pros:
Judd - pure class
Murph
Gibbs - close to BOG for mine
Kroooooz
JR's last quarter
Hampson, Armfield, Grigg etc. all contributed and are growing into their roles with every passing week
Setanta and Fisher played about their best games for the year
Shoving it up that prick Cornes. Loved giving it to him in the last when he failed to give a shepherd to protect a teammate going for the ball. Soft
Don't think I have ever hugged so many strangers in my life
I had $50 on at $5.85 :-D
By being at the game, I didn't have to listen to dropkick Dwayne Russel "commentate"

Cons:
Absolutely woeful going into the forward 50 in the first 3 quarters
Umpiring was really terrible
JR going on report (although he should get off)
I put the $50 on head-to-head instead of going for under 39.5 points :(

Pros:
Work ethic throughout the game. We were highly inefficient for 3 quarters, but the work ethic was there right throughout.
The crowd support for Carlton (despite Dwayne's absurd comment that the crowd had gone silent when the comeback was in full swing).
Forward set up in the last quarter combined with the midfield dominance.
Waite's defensive rebounding (could easily have kicked 3 goals).
Gibbs job on Chadwick.
Judd, Murphy and many others.
Outstanding last quarter from Russell and Stevens.
Kreuzer's last quarter. He showed us the full set. A beautiful contested mark with a slippery ball. A goal on the run. And a mark on the lead.

Cons:
Good that some of our better kicks took a turn at kicking out today. But still hard to fathom why Carrazzo would ever be one of them.
Umpiring in the last quarter.

I watched the replay and the last quarter was amazing.

We played some bold attacking football instead of being so negative. I couldn't be more prouder of that last quarter performance from the boys they put there head over the ball, crashed packs, forced a contest and took the game on.

What was displayed in the that last quarter come back now needs to be captured in a 4 quarter performance and then we will see this side move on up.

Some of the coaching moves in the first 3 quarters were pagan like!!! What the hell were they thinking putting Kruise on Westoff....baffling!!!
Thank god for the class of Murp, Gibbs, Judd and Kruise.
I thought Wiggins was fantastic throughout the game as well

Outer I thought the same thing, but maybe ALL the players, coaches, President and First Lady were too excited to even realise it as well. :-D

TODAY'S PRO:
The photo accompanying the match report, shows Waite about to deliver a big hip&shoulder to block for Thornton. Great to see.

TODAY'S CON:
The Age sports reporter, who just went through the stats and gave Carlton's best six players to our six highest stats-winners, and did the same for Port Adelaide when he used their top-four stats getters, plus threw in Brogan and Lade.

How anyone could not include Gibbs in Carlton's best six last night is baffling. Pantsed Chad Cornes and won 4 clearances. Cornes got 1.

Pros

Great come from behind victory

The young guys all stood up.

The Chief providing blocks for Juddy

Another milestone victory on the road and erasing all those bad memories.

Dare we think finals?

Walks is only a week or so away from playing!

Cons
Still waiting for the game to become available on line.

The argy bargy that went on on the match day thread yesterday.

Very poor first 2 and a half quarters.

Skill errors!
