The point that budzy raised about Fev actually making the comment about rejecting a 3 year deal is an interesting one, as it usually doesn't fall to a player to make those types of comments but rather their managers.

Maybe Fev is holding the fort on contract negotiations thru the media while his management team gets confirmed.

Either way, he needs to be careful that he isn't being too arrogant.

How can he accept any deal until his management is in place?

According to Ratts Fev actually made the comment at a function about rejecting a 3 year deal.

He doesn't need management to close the deal.

He just needs to sign on the dotted line.

It's not an ideal way to go about it, especially when you have gone to the trouble of picking a management team, but this is Fev.

He needs to finalise his management team, and he most likely is worth several million, before he can sign on the dotted line. Of course he is going to reject any deal put in front of him until he is in a position to sign knowing the exact financial implications of any such deal. Fev generally speaks off the cuff, and no doubt he really did reject anything put before him until he is in a better position to know what cut his management team will be taking.

See this is how shit starts. Ratts did not say Fev rejected the deal, he said he had heard it in the media..... Big difference.

Besides I would bet that he said something it got taken out of context. I would not see Fev saying something like that......

More worried about Judd's (supposed) groin injury than Fev's contract negotiation.

Carlton please consider Hamill and St.Kilda before signing a long term deal.

Carlton will have a player who doesn't give a flying toss and injured for most of it. Fev is now at his peak and will be on the decline in his new contract.

3 years??? IMFG - we are stupid when it comes to resigning players. We should be in the box seat not Fev. Fev is looking for a pension contract.

As Swann rightly pointed out .. Fev is durable.. he aint no crock like Hamill

I would rather Hamill at his best than Fev at his best any day. Hamill would bleed and hurt for his team mates. Fev abuses his team mates.

You are all getting sucked in on the hype that Fevola brings. All of you, yes all of you.

Hamill walked out on his original team mates for money. Fev has publically said he wants to stay at Carlton.

According to CH10 news Fev himself has publically said at a recent function that he has rejected a 3 year offer.

If this is correct.....offer him 1 yr and wish him well at Freo.

In regard to the Hamill situation, he was shafted by Elliot. But I can tell you now, if you were going to war and footy is like war only it is played out on a cricket oval, you would want Hamill next to you and not Fev.

I wouldn't want that germ Hamill anywhere near me in a war. He would probably break down as he was running towards the enemy to see how much money they would offer him if he joined them.

Hamill only smacked small blokes.

Same here, Hamill is a turd. Cant tell you how happy I was when he retired. After all we did for him, he jumped higher than a tick on heat at the biggest bidder.

Fev is an idiot, but you know where you stand.

I always loved Hamill and thought he was the nicest guy, and thought he loved the club and would be loyal etc. Geez was I wrong.

I hope Fev does not go down the same path. Not so much worried about Fev as I think if the decision was his own he would be a loyal guy, but worried about his new management and his wifes influence. (Dont know where she stands, but I think she would want them set up for life and when it came down to it she would not care which club he got his money from). I hope I am wrong.

Not quite. Hamill likes to suggest that he left because of Uncle Jacks comments, when he had already commited to the Swans. Yup - the Swans. He shafted them as well. Not exactly who I would want next to me in a war!

I don't think Fev is as cold as that - we don't need to be the highest bidder, we just need to offer something within a respectable distance of other offers.

Never ever, ever compare Hamill to any current player in a Carlton jumper.

The mere thought of it is freakin' hilarious.

Fev sticks up for his players, and has stuck with us through the hardest times the club has ever faced. When you look at it - the only survivors pre Black Friday are Houla, Wiggins, Stevens, Waite, T-Bird, Fish and Banno and Fev...

...for sticking with the club through the past 5 years, these players should be given a freakin' gold star for not jumping off what was a sinking ship.

Hamill was/is a gutless little worm who, regardless of taking JE's words to heart - took the big cash offer from St.Kilda, and suffered a massive karma bashing as a result.

Yes that's right, Hamill would still be playing today - and winning the Coleman jointly with Fev year after year, had he stayed with the Blues...

Seriously, would you seriously want to compare this egghead to Fev:

...crap wrong photo. This egghead:

I rest meh cases...

Hamill - couldnt put 100 games together at any club he played for so any of his fertilized turds will never be eligible for father/son.

Fevola unhappy at behaviour clause - Caroline Wilson and Nick Sheridan
Quote:
The prevailing view at Carlton is that a three-year deal worth $1.5 million would prove a realistic offer, not $2.4 million which has been reported.

Quote:
Fevola has confided to colleagues in recent weeks that he remained in doubt as to whether he needed an accredited representative to deal on his behalf, given most managers charge players about 3% of their contracts and closer to 20% for marketing and media deals.

probably one of the better articles on a player contract in recent times. I'd hope the club sticks to their guns and retains the behaviorial clause in his contract.

Yes but what is that behavioural clause 4th chicken.. that you wish to see in the contract???

Do you know??

Like you want the club to stick to its guns... but you have no clue what the contract is and what clause exactly Fev has to sign to...

Like i said.. just leave this alone and will it fix itself up... no need for people to get all knee jerky at this stage...
