setanta is 25, yeah still a kid!!!murphy, gibbs and kreuzer all number one picks for a reason and should be playing.
how long has bentick, wiggins, bannister, saddington and ackland been at the club? so your right lets play them and leave the kids in the twos. we may find ourselfs with another number draft pick! how often do you here a commentator say, how come bentick, wiggins, saddington or ackland can not get a game.
to re build a club what do you do? if a player has been on the list for a few years and shows nothing like all clubs do, say thanks for your services.
saddington, bannister and ackland were traded for a reason.
i would prefer to finish last having played browne, armfield, anderson, austin and pfeiffer than finishing second or third last having played wiggins, bannister, ackland and bentick.
look what happened when jamo, grigg, bower, ewards and hampson all got a game. so why not give others a go?
why cant armfield or anderson play on guys like bannister does?
why cant we move waite to chf and play austin at chb?
why cant browne play forward?
are they to young, inexperienced? give them a chance to have a go is all iam asking.
They will get their chance. They ARE getting their chance. Why rush them and play too many at once? That doesn't help them as individuals or the team as a group.
And did it ever occur to you that one of the reasons Jamo, Edwards, Bower etc. have done OK so far is because the team hasn't been totally loaded up with kids and they have some experienced players around them? And don't forget Jamo, Edwards & Bower have played at least a season's worth of games each at VFL level. Your argument seems to based on the idea that playing them in the VFL is bad for them, and that throwing them to the wolves at AFL level = development.
We're just going to have to agree to disagree that some of the guys you are wanting to play in the seniors aren't ready right now. Getting games into them at VFL level is like putting money in the bank. It's true that some kids are ready to play AFL earlier than others (eg Murphy), and they get to a point where they need exposure at AFL level to improve, but you sound like you want to throw all our kids in at the deep in and see if they sink or swim (and then when they sink you'll say it's their fault!).
And by the way, Carlos is a kid in footy terms. Murphy, Gibbs and Kreuzer and still kids, it doesn't matter where they were taken in the draft.
