"I appreciate that there can be no excuse for going over the limit," he said.

"It's a wake-up call for me and hopefully a reminder to everyone that the speed limit must be observed, particularly at selected times in and around school areas."

The club has worded this very well...

Actually the from my point of view, the Fevola article in the HUN is newsworthy - but not for the reason that that newspaper or anyone else would be thinking.

We live in a world in which many experts are saying that the supply of the commodity that runs our society and holds it together in an economic sense - oil - is within one. maybe three years of coming to an economic crisis point - and when that happens, the economic world as we understand it - will fall apart. The ambitions of the Islamic fundamentalists are indeed poised to accelerate this process considerably - and we and even more importantly, our gloriously triumphant economic rationalist government, are seemingly utterly oblivious to this.

If you dont believe me, then Take a look at this : http://www.energybulletin.net/3161.html

and remember that when you read this, the person saying these things isnt a raving pinko leftie, but a right wing oil industry expert that has been repeatedly recognised by his peers over 50 years as being the industry expert in his field.

So if he is saying these things - and right wing media outlets like the HUN arent even talking about this - then where are they??? - and where the hell are we????

And when this occurs, all the debt related financial problems that are only expressed in terms of stock market woes at the moment - will inevitably move into the real economy and add to the peak oil disaster that is to come..

Once the Peak Oil issues add to the debt related problems that we are now experiencing, the financial conflagration that will inevitably occur will rival or most probably exceed that of the great depression of 1929.

The signs that indicate that this is about to occur arent very hard to see.

A 5 minute Google search will show anyone with half a brain that this is indeed a problem that is pretty much ripened and ready to land right into our god forsaken laps right now.

And while we are in this impending situation, the deadbeats at the HUN, as well as the brain dead or corrupt (take your pick) government doesn't even care.

And for all their wisdom, the people of the HUN decide that the news of the day is Fevola admitting that he did 60 K's in a 40 kilometre zone.

Well, step up to the podium you journalistically challenged HUN people and accept the gold medal for irrelevancy, stupidity, complete irresponsibility and an apparently quite wilful desire to totally mislead the public on relevant and important issues of our time..

God I hate the HUN.

And what makes it even worse is that the means to avoid this near future pain for Australia is not much further away from us in February 2008 that me succesfully groping at 2am 30 centimetres across from my bed to the bed-side drawers that store my undies and socks.

In other words, bureaucracy, ideolology and economic fundamantalism reign supreme...

But in what is meant to be 'The lucky country' our Aussie government is too stupid or corrupt to even begin to understand that it might actually save most of the families and businesses that it claims to represent from this close at hand crisis by making some relatively simple changes.

If they werent so ideologically compromised / obsessed, then they might just start to begin to understand....

Then again, maybe it will take a decent dose of a societal breakdown towards that of say Mad Max 1 until the government has the bare beginnings of the faintest flicker of consciousness to come into their heads...Such is the apparent love affair with rich and powerful lobbyists and government descisions.

take away affordable petrol, and you take away most of what passes for cohesive society.. But out of course, our pollies cant understand this...

When an organisation supports the view of Andrew Bolt, their credibility is negligable.
