T-Bird superb and showed plenty of heart. Can't agree with you guys more.

Actually thought Whitnall's 2nd half was good. He worked as hard as I've seen him work for a while and thought his endeavour was great. Though for that sort of coin I do want more than endeavour...

But I thought he worked really hard.

After 7 (yes seven) rounds we're still ahead of Brisbane on the ladder

Haven't seen the last quarter yet, but I thought De Luca competed well in defence under impossible conditions. Showed enough to me that he could play as a defensive option (which is good because we need some genuine height down back, and they're more likely to give Setanta ground time, if he's not competing for ground time in the same part of the oval with De Luca).

Simpson won more of the ball, and started to look like he believed that he may belong out there in the seniors.

Waite was super-competitive.

Good to see Lappin fire up.

If that was the case Agro, then it is a poor indictment on the players concerned. They should have shared the pain that the majority of us endured. They are part of the team, regardless of where they played today!

Jordan Russell must be a lot closer to getting a run in the seniors now. Even if his form is not yet exceptional, the long-term would have to become much more of a priority than the short-term after today's effort.

Poor indictment on me also but if there is one thing I cant stand its listening to "The Termites" singing that yellow and black song. But I can vouch for the fact that it was Clarke and Davies walking from the ground at that time.

A carlton supporter goes into a library and asks for a book on suicide.
The librarian says; "F*ck off, you won't bring it back."

Positives?

I posted on this site for the first time today :)

welcome Swindon.

For me the positive is that it clearly rules a line under the wizzer cup. That was an aberration, well done to the boys for that because they were clearly playing above their standard and at or close to their best, and it was not sustainable.

So now we can be realistic.

That's a positive.

Yeh, welcome Swindon, even though you sound like more of a Bath man than a Swindon man to me ;)

The positive for me is an epiphany of sorts that has occurred. I realise we've got some plyers coming thru - those mentioned. But I now fully comprehend that we're only half way through sorting out the rest.

My football club needs to find out what it's got. A few quick thoughts would be to play Davies instead of Johnson, Bryan instead of De Luca and give the other kids a go. Get Bentick in, give Bowyer a go if just for some passion. Sporny needs to get a kick in the Ants. Give Pleming a run and let Santy have at least a decent run around to find his feet.

I'm right behind Carlton seeing what might rise to the top. 12 months ago they were spitting on Richmond, 12 months later with a few very handy pick-ups of kids and experience they are pumped full of confidence and firing as best they could. Even their gumbos are getting a kick.

We need to look forward to the same. That's a positive. Finishing 10th or thereabouts is a negative.

Is that a positive, or a call for perspective?

Collingwood's first quarter against Freo was worse than our first quarter against the Tiges

positive that the powers that be (and are flower) must be real happy to see Carlton Collingwood and Essendon* all stuffed at the moment - forget being a club with a proud history and a striving to always compete in finals and push yourselves to be the best you can - reward the clkubs that are shit for many years with the cream of the talent and watch them rise for a few years

I have hated ferris wheels from the day i was about 5 - never thought foortball would become just another bullshit ferris wheel.

Think I might begin to pull the old heart out of this game - its not about striving its about playing dead for a few years - which is why we ar egetting so many calls to do exactly that.

And if we don;t?

Well dinosaurs were great for a time too.....

This is all so [REDACTED]! I know take it, its the way it is but like so much of the way it is, is still @#$%&! wrong!!!!

Positives for me:

* I didn't turn on Foxtel until just before half time (about the time Lappin kicked his first goal) so maybe I was spared total embarrasment but it wasn't pretty even though we sort of matched the Tigers after half time

* Carlton can see now what will happen if they commit so many skill errors including trying to kick at the man instead of in front of him to allow him to lead, or to a forward with 2 players manning him. Why?

* Sentanta's first goal - good stuff, though he did look a bit lost out there. By the way he hardly seemed like a giant

I'll say no more, because I'm making a negative with every positive!?!

When it comes to positives, Collingwood losing by 112pts is the greatest news all weekend. I have a had field day with my wfie and sister in law, both Collingwood supporters. Was a great drive home from Wangarratta singing

HEAVE HO WAY TO GO WE ARE THE FREO DOCKERS

We may of been belted, but wood work classes have begun in Collingwood :D

Oh how the wheel turns so quickly on those Collingqwood supporters so quick to berate us.

No matter how shite we're going we're going to be able to ream those wooden spoons right back up Joffa's arse at the end of the year.
