Sticks just thrusted himself to Carton folklore and condemned the club to a public relations hell.
Guarenteed that the average dumb supporter will vote for him for the next 10 years...but stuck another knife into the club!
Synbad, dont underestimate what shit circumstances Sticks has had to work in..
he is entitled to lash out at the media who have been flogging him like a dead horse! Synbad, I like what he said!
The difference is that unlike in the 90's, when we could the players to back it up our attitude on the field, the comments at this time of the CFC will only go against us.
But if i was copping it left, right and centre, i too would want to bite back.
The sooner a new ticket is formed, with REAL leaders and THINKERS, the better!!
Absolutely not. We are running a business and lashing out at those that can assist us in rebuilding the brand is short-sighted in the least and extemely poor. Carlton Communications spend alot of time trying to curry favour with the press and I cant imagine how difficult it would be now given the outlandish and childish remarks made by Kernahan.
Without any good stories to sell we need these guys to put forward positivity for us - note Ando's article last week which although despised by some for presuming to know our recruiting strategies was positive because it talked about how close we could be if we put it all together.
We have to sell the positive side of the Club or who will want to know us? Which kids will want to sign up with us? We are in the business of building a long-term brand and short-term fury does nothing.
If the circumstances are too shit for Kernahan he shouldn't be there. Its a tough job under considerable stress but theres a need relationship here and we dont want to be burning anyone who can assist.
