Gilbert McAdam was a noted goalkicker too.... (for a hakf a season).. so what????

Can i just explain something to you?????

McInley is at WC... and exactly how many games have they won with his noted 4th forward galkicking prowess......?????

Do you think the opposition are putting the squeeze on McInley????

Why shouldnt it have been said??????(Re Fev) cos its going to cause you to have a baby????

Fev will be playing for the Carlton Football Club next year......

We have medium forwards 4th chicken,,, we have Edwards and we have Pfeiffer and Wiggo and Fisher.....what does McInley definitely add next year to us????... you dont even know how he will play in our structure...

He aint a priority...... (unless he is your second cousin i dont se the fixation....

I agree with most things Synbad has been on about . Don't think we need to go chasing another big name at a high cost at all . However if one Barry Hall goes out again on suspension the Swans may say enough , sack him and make a big bid for Fev . That could get interesting .

Ok lets have a look through our medium/small forwards for this season and their averages
betts -1.3 goals, 0.6 behinds,
fisher - 1.1 goals, 1.2 behinds,
edwards - 1 goal, 1 behind
wiggins - 0.9 goals, 0.2 behinds
pfeiffer - 0.7 goals, 0.3 behinds

You dont think someone who is averaging of 2 goals, 0.8 behinds is going to contribute or be able to displace anyone in our current forward setup? give me a break. As to whether or not the opposition is putting the squeeze on, mckinley has kicked goals in the U18 champs and wafl as well. Whilst that doesnt guarantee that he wont be a flash in a pan so what? there are no such guarantees. There is nothing in his playing history to suggest that he would be a flash in the pan though. On balance, he would be a good off season target

Fact is we need more players that can kick multiple goals in a game. Fisher can do it on ocassion however neither edwards, wiggins or pfeiffer have ever shown an ability to do so in ants or the seniors.

Re: Fev -I've already stated that I expect him to be with the club next season so there is no need for you to tell me that. Why shouldnt he have said sydney was chasing him? - its all about respect and attitude. Can you say his statements were good for the club?

Here is recent quote from another player - if Fev carried such an attitude towards his footy/life there wouldnt be any criticism of him. Of course, given that Fev is your lovechild there is no need for fev to display such an attitude

Quote:
Regarded by Matthews as one of the most humble people in football, Lappin knows 2008 may be his last if his ankle dramas persist but is determined to repay the Lions.

"If my achilles is right, then the rest is OK," he told News Ltd.

"I don't want to be the one holding a young bloke back, and money's never been an issue.

"I've been looked after by the club over the years so it's not about the money. It's about playing footy and being competitive.

"This year, it's hard to tell how long I have left, whether it's two months or 18 months. I went to my wife, Claire, and we talked about what I can do to give something back to the club."

It was a simple statement about attitudes of players towards contract negotiations. Obviously you either missed or chose to ignore such a point and would prefer to deflect attention as you normally do. Given that I generallly credit you with at least some intelligence so you probably ignored it. The quote was by nigel lappin btw who is out of contract at the end of this season in case you were confused. Anyway, I'm not going to bother debating the point with you anymore (for now).

In terms of fisher - I've no doubt that he has the capacity to kick 40goals/season again (iirc he kicked 38?). He is playing a different role this year though I already stated in my earlier post that he was the only other forward that had shown a propensity to kick regular multiples of goals - wiggins, pfeiffer, edwards havent shown that in the ants previously, not to mention the blues.

In terms of goal kicking last I checked robert murphy, brad johnson, nathan eagleton, mark williams, ryan okeefe, etc (all of whom are around 186) have been managed to be servicable forwards

No chance of PSD.

According to the following article he was dropped/rested due to a shoulder injury sustained 3 weeks prior in a game against north that was affecting his game.

http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0 ... 01,00.html

Whether or not you consider that a dropping due to poor form depends on perspective though I would suggest that players that clubs dont generally state a player is expected to miss 2-3 weeks after being dropped for form reasons. A player is also seldom dropped after having 5 shots on goal (kicked 2.3 a couple weeks beforehand)

Yeah i missed the attitude bit....

Look whether you understand this or not... not everybody is the same....

Lappin sells few jumpers cos he is different to Fevola...

Horses for courses...

Fev is Fev...

Lappin is Lappin.. theyre not one in the same.....

For flowers sake who cares!!!!

Youve been wanting to trade Fev and keep Lance for 6 years.....

Synbad - I've accepted that the club will do its utmost to retain Fev YEARS ago so if he signs with the club then great. Provided Fev puts in the required effort (chasing/tackling) then I'm more than happy to provide my full support to him as a CFC player.

Fev might not be lappin but he should be expected to try to live up to his standards.
