We haven't had the cash to splash on coaches.. Before this..

When I say we dont have money we don't have money!

The problem is ... we need to be free of the Madhouse ... but appointing any of those assistants would be a mistake because they would not need to do much to improve this side and we don't want to get stuck with them based on any improvement this year. At the end of the year we need to take our time and make some really smart decisions.

The Madhouse has caused massive damage ... but we need to start fresh at the end of the year. If someone has to be appointed now ... make it clear that it is only a four month appointment and that they will not be getting the job at the end of the season.

All the coaches must go at the end of 2015.

What I am really scared of is that we dump Madhouse and appoint someone like Barker.

Like I was saying last week, there's a culture of fear in terms of making mistakes right now. A coach that makes 8 changes to the previous week has a lot to answer for in terms of delivering a more competitive performance, otherwise, why make such wholesale changes?

He has to go now, because somewhere along the chain from supporters through to the board, people are paying one or more parties lip service, and it's translating to a player group that has no confidence in itself or its game plan.

The club can't afford 200k to pay somebody for the rest of the season.

Also nobody will want it.. It's a poison chalice.
This is not a gig any smart young coach will want

If Mick goes this year, his mate Buttifant will leave with him too.

Not really a problem in terms of his expertise. He's clever and capable, but there are plenty of other academics and coaches who can be paired up with all sorts of knowledge, possibly for less cash in the long term.

I think what Mandy said that he is a dangerous man on his way out, has been evident from before R1, he wanted assurances didn't get them, things started off badly and now its snowballed to the point of no return.

Hopefully the money situation means they have to appoint a current assistant as senior coach.

Yessssss sos to fill in the gaps.
Quietly I don't think the players would want to see Mick go.. But a change will bring on a certain freshness into this diabolical equation.
The problem is nobody will survive it.
People look to port and say they did it.
What they don't take into amount are a few things.
The club set about arresting itself for its honesty and didn't look to the benefactor
Next was there was some leadership on the ground and off
Third.. Their recruiting had been very good for some years
Fourth.. They came into the competition and almost immediately won a flag without the kind of handouts gws GC got... And they had won a flag inside the last decade
They arrested the culture slide early... We didn't!
Apples and oranges

They were saying the salary cap sanctions would be many years.
What we have done to ourselves has been many times worse...
Laziness.. Narcissistic... So devoid of any truthfulness and foresight.
It's killed us

Oh rubbish!
Mandy needs to worry about bucks and Eddie.. We know she's not concerned with Carlton.

You're obviously in the know...you know people in the club...you know the machinations, the politics, the tea leaves etc.

Don't take this next comment as a criticism...take it as an exasperated 52 yo who grew up with nothing but a culture of winning flags wanting something to hope for...

Synbad, you have articulated over thousands of posts about our parlous state. You've told us the problems. Do you have any information, even if it's just a reasoned guess...are there quality people out there looking for genuine, sustained and informed solutions to our predicament?

So this has nothing to do with Mick, but when Ratts was around it had everything to do with him?

I know the problems begin higher up, but Mick can't be let off the hook for this.

Malthouse is doing worse than Pagan. He's a disaster.

In three seasons, after the first seven games of each season, Pagan has his nose ahead of Malthouse by half a game. I think he'd be confident in extending that lead over the super coach.

It's a game, nothing more. So far Pagan is doing better than Malthouse. Both are/were duds. Waste of space.

Its obvious what the point is (I agree with point 1 more than point 2)

1. Board higher up are morons, no leadership which flows down to everywhere else.

2. Mick has come in, probably had no idea how bad it was when he was outside of it and is now as demoralised as everyone else, and that it would probably happen to anyone else.

How do we call an EGM under the club's constitution to bring up all directors positions for re-election. There must be some emergency clause that allows the members to do that.

Then we have no one but our selves to blame. That would be a novelty.

Don't get angry with me, Synners. I had 12 years of experience with the bloke, just thought I'd add my opinion.

Whether I have concern for Carlton or not doesn't make my claims less valid.

And thanks for the advice, but I'm not worried about Bucks or Eddie at the moment.
