More than happy for a challenge to the board to take place in the off-season, particularly if it is led by someone like Trainor who to my limited knowledge at least seems to have some business sense (and is still listed as Vice President on our website, CFC comms department on the ball as usual). But I'd rather it not happen now to further derail what is already turning out to be an ordinary season at best.

It's one thing to say "Get this guy in", but I'd much rather get behind someone who has made the effort and forged the connections to put together a whole ticket and a proper plan to move forward (none of this "three flags by 2020" or "put the arrogance back into Carlton" bollocks). McGuire didn't do it by himself at Collingwood, he put a team together. We need someone to do the same.

This is the key. I'm quite confident that if you ask any of the main power-players at our club why kids of today or people new to football should adopt Carlton as their team WITHOUT mentioning history, you'll get blank stares in response.

What does it mean to follow Carlton TODAY? What do we stand for TODAY? I've followed this club my whole life and thanks to TC probably have a greater understanding of the club than I ever had previously, and I'm [REDACTED] if I know a single reason why a kid in 2014 would choose Carlton as their club (unless they have determined Carlton-supporting parents). It's maddening.
