Pity you were sucked in by SB's nonsense about the Essendon* games, KingKerna. You must think he played on Lloyd, who kicked 4 goals from 15 possessions. Wrong guy. Santy played on Scotty Lucas, and kept him to 1 goal from 8 possessions at CHF, and his only goal happened when Santy peeled off him to try to help out a team mate who had a one-on-one marking duel in the goalsquare. I reckon he did pretty well :-)

there were a couple of other monumental clangers i that game to Mav - but we wont mention them will we

Shouldn't be hard, then, to find someone to match up on Hale, Pavlich, Buddy, Lucas, Travis Cloke, Riewoldt and the like, then. They're just mind-numbing jobs. Any chump could do the honours.

Yep just how sides have lined up on Fev over the last few years - Fevs been kicking bags we've been getting belted Fev tore them up in both Essendon* games last year and we lost both of them- the old SOS v Lockett very very quickly becoming a thing of the past - you use you best backman to create not stop

Short memory SB, Waite was destroyed by Brown before O'Hailpin and did a much better job in that first game.

In fact, the only game you could call O'Hailpin as being bad in last year was the game against the Aints. The rest he was more than serviceable. But your prejudices fail to see it.

Totally agree.

Thank good ness Ratten wants him back in the fold.

Setanta is required personnel. He's got more scalps than most key position defenders in the league...if you care to look.

Setanta is a utility imo and at 199 cm and 100 kgs who can run like a small, is most valuable. Given the many scalps and our lack of mobile defenders at a round 200cm there's no argument imo that he is worthy to consider (on a week by week basis) in our first 22.

If selection is based on form and on match ups (a case by case, week to week, horses for courses...basis) then if there's no bad blood (as it seems) amongst the players, I'd put money on it that Setanta gets a gig in 2009, not because I say so, but because the selection committee says so; they've done it in the past, they publicly stated that we missed him when he was injured in the last 6 weeks of 08.

I hope all is forgiven, the smoke is out, and he makes a (positive) mark on the game, his club and for himself.

I look forward to the leadership group's decision.

Lets hope it is not the Mick Martin we grew to love so much- otherswise we are in deep shit

"We're just waiting for Mick Martin, our sports psych, to give us the all-clear there, but if it takes another three weeks or a month we'll work through that. :yikes:

forget the Carlos thing, if Waite is our most creative backman then we are [REDACTED], Waite turns the ball over more than...well I was goling to say more than Carrots but maybe not....just. Waite misses more than hits, even the few touches he did on friday, most missed the target.

Tex gets bagged for his delivery - take a look at Waite's. Play him in the backline but for @#$%&!'s sake get someone to run past for the handball (and no, not Carrots).

We lost to Richmond round 1 with Judd playing then beat them in round 14 when he wasn't.

Hey not sure if anyones posted this link before but i think i actually agree with Grant Thomas for once

I have an idea though - we should all take video cameras to other clubs intra-club matches and tape them in case we see any incidents that might warrant a suspension or at least a reprimand then email it to the herald-sun and whammo 'insert opposition player here' is out of action for when we play them.

WHAT A GREAT PEICE BY THOMAS.

The biggest beat up ever in football. It was disgusting how Matty Grandlan from SEN reported the incident

yep, fair play to Thomas, he summed it up perfectly IMO

at first, just hearing it on the news i was like, damn, thats the end of Carlos, but after actually seeing the incident, i was like "WTF, is that all?"

its not great to see a team mate fight with another, but 4 weeks suits the crime IMO, the kick, was hardly a kick, and it certainly wasnt a kick as describe by the numptie on SEN.

(p.s. hello everyone, been ages since i posted here)

Matt Granland is a joke. Pathetic commentator. Pathetic reporter. Argues nonsense and has bizarre opinions on issues. In fact, i'm not sure he has ever actually expressed his own opinion on anything. tries to take the moral high ground on everything, but quite clearly has no clue what the @#$%&! he is talking about. Add to that a bit of sensationalist bullshit and you have the most inept moron in the football media. Golden tonsils they call him. Pffft! Shit truck I call him

The kid who took two of them to the cleaners in 2008. Paul Bower.

Hale if he backs up his form in 2009 will destroy any defence if he is left 1 out, he even tore Geelong apart who had ten playing on him at one stage.

Oh Please. Saddington made Hale look like a champion. It was one of the most insipid displays from a backman I have seen. IF you are not prepare to use your body on Hale then Hale will dominate.

The fact remains that we lack depth in the tall backman department and hence why Setanta is still a required player. An injury to Bower for example and Setanta is just about guaranteed a spot with the seniors.

Although promising, Austin still has a while to go before he can challenge for a senior spot. He has yet to stamp his authority for the Bullants. Still a kid.

I can't be bothered finding out who said it, but the comment about 'how many games did you see live last year'

:garthp:

Cheapest shot to make at someone who lives interstate.

Mick Martyn is in flowers. And not the board-changing-rude-words kind.

If he was the on-air host & tosser on SEN last Saturday afternoon allowing the bogan/feral/noshow callers to go to air somehow drawing a bow between the Cloke/O'hAilpin intra club incident and Carlton's history of cheating  - whilst Outer Melbourne was going up in flames then he certainly is an inept moron and all round flower wit I would think.

No further penalty to be imposed by the club.
