How about you stay off the drugs and stop posting crap?

Then again, maybe you could stop playing with yourself.

he could have atleast made it seem like he might be saying so we could get a better trade for him from hawthorn.

thanks mate.

Think about it before blaming him. What if it's not about the money?

He didn't release to the press. CFC did!!!!!!

just angry... sorry clem.
im all about loyalty.

Oh, I'm just as angry as you. But it's too easy to blame the player. Do you think he would really want the reputation of being the player who left the Blues in their time of need?

I don't think he'll be first to put up his hand to leave either......

Don't be surprised if this isn't T-bird's manager playing silly buggers. T-bird could very well stay.

I think he's been made a fair offer by Carlton. I don't think it's about money.

Disappointing that Bret's decided he wants to leave but so be it. The tanty's have never impressed me but I certainly wanted him to be a long term player for the club.

The fact that his manager has stated that the dollars we offered are the same as Hawthorn's offer suggests that it's a personality issue (coach/players/whatever) but it also means we're in the box seat to get a decent trade.

Hawthorn aren't suddenly going to offer him $400K so that he drops through to them in the PSD and if he looks like doing that then we simply tell him straight that he'll be redrafted by us and he'll forever be known as the bloke who cost us PSD #1. I can't think of too many players who'd want to return to a club with that on their heads.

So, a trade it is.

Pick 6 will be an absolute minimum.

There may be up to a dozen clubs interested in him next week and he's certainly the best player on offer at this stage.

Let's see who comes up with what and get full value for someone who cost us a rookie spot at the beginning.

For once I agree with Clem. We are not a happy place, haven't been for a while and players DON'T WANT to come and NOW WANT to leave. It's been brewing for years and I get the feeling boiling point has reached.

If it is not the money then why bother with contract negotiations?

He could have saved everyone a lot of angst by telling us weeks ago that he wanted to leave.

It all smacks of player manager negotiating by media to me. David Allison anyone?

No doubt about it Caz but if he'd made his mind up previously then it makes sense to get CFC up to the same offer so that when the real dealing starts next week he's got a fallback position if a deal can't be reached.

Fallback position? Id' pull the rug out from under his feet.

This club cannot afford to be held to ransom anymore. Those days MUST not come back again.

It's the Hamill situation all over again and we'll probably receive an average pick and another dud from the Hawks.

Fairweather player.

Hamill got us pick 4.

I'd take that.

Changed my mind. Seeing as there is no way in hell Hawks will part with pick 6. Once they do deal with Swans they should have pick 15.

We could piggy back in on this (and get someone like Malceski, 22 or Buchanan, 24) or just let Hawks give us pick 15 and 24 for Thornton and 51.

That'd give us 1,15,17,19,24,35.

6 picks in the first 35...would be very nice.

Did I say pick four was average?

That trade hurt us more than it hurt the Saints and we're in a similar situation yet again.

Pick six is a pipe dream.

has anyone given any thought to my suggestion of Everitt and second round pick for Thornton and then trading Everitt for two swans?

Lets face it Spider isn't hot property for everyone
