The problem at Carlton is and has been for some time is we don't have any smart football people at the club with a bold vision and a plan for success.

The Carlton way is to be its way to a premiership. Not develop their own.

Ratten relied on Judd and his better players to win us games. Mick is trying to change that

Recruiting: it has been poor for almost 10 years now. The issue I have is we seem to recruit kids who's names you read in articles by Emma Quayle and Matt Burgen. Mitch Robinson, to Luke Mitchell and Tom Temay. People who don't take an Internet in draft prospects new of these names before the draft.

Development has been poor. My understanding is Mick has made it be known to several power brokers and board members that he is shocked at the standard of some of players but doesn't blame the individual but blames the lack of development.

It was mentioned by a John Anderson on 3A's pre game that he's heard Mick could make as many as 12 changes to the list. Greg Swann riding deny it when it asked.

I think what Mick needs to do is put together a great team around him and the boys. The club needs to get out and poach a great footy ops manager like a balme type.

Was mentioned by John Anderson on 3AW's per game coverage that he heard Mick is likely to make 10 to 12 changes at the end of the year. That's his information.

One last thing. It's doesn't say much for the likes of Laidler, Duigan, Watson, White, Davies etc when Mick has decided to play underdone and injured players before them.

Mick has said a numerous time that the 22 he picks are the best 22 available......?

A one armed Mitch Robinson
A 7 week under done Carazzo off 3 quarters in the VFL a week before.
A Marc Murphy who was basically a tackling bag out there tonight.
A Andrew Mccines coming off three game in the VFL from a knew reco a year ago
One genuine ruckman
One genuine forward

Its clear what Mick thinks of our playing list if those guys going at less than 70% get a game before some others who could have given us 100%

You never ever go into a game with that many underdone players.... SIMPLE AS THAT!!

Malthouse will do exactly what Pagan did this time next year we will have a bunch of retreads playing for us . We will end up with the teagues and Harfords again

Knew this would happen
Just like Pagan its not about the club its about themselves . We were a better tesm under Brittain than Pagan and we were a better team under Ratten than Malthouse . The club in both instances failed to look at the injuries we had in the years they were sacked
Prepare for several years if misery

How many players do you need to turn over year after year until you think you have the right mix .
Its the shit game plan that is killing us at the moment not the cattle we have on the park

the gameplan would be shit if you have 20 hbfers and no leadrrship....and a couple of mids under 29.. the rest all over 29.. but the ones under 29 are made up of rookies....

not sure what youre expecting FRANKLY!!!....

most teams have a swag of midfielders.. and continue to draft more...each season adding new blood into that group.

we have cachia... they said it.. our only first year player.... but hes not reallly a first year player is he??? shhhhhhh.. let them thin he is....

and hes a rookie... and he cant spread .. thats the new game ya know???.. the spread!!!... defend.. spread!!!

now look at our kicking..

and who of laidler duigan davies joseph watson mccarthy bootsma white rowe hampson warnock or mitchell was going to come in and mix things up for us today???

Least we have a game plan..... Under Ratten it was Chris Judd and that's it. He carried this team on his own shoulders.

Sorry but our list is poo and overrated.

Our recruiting has been crap.

Lack of Development.

Culture is shit.

Has nothing to do with Mick or his game plan.

I've heard that a week or so ago Mick presented to the board and basically had given the board members a reality check of where this list is at and club is at.

Hard not be disappointed considering the money invested. Players don't seem to responding much better to Malthouse than they did to Ratten and the defensive mindset he was supposed to instil hasn't eventuated. The emphasis on long kicking hasn't exactly been a success either.

the ten half back flankers gameplan.

were potbound... we dont have a midfield.. the modern game is about a strong deep midfield...
we have one dimmensional flankers and slow talls in the reserves

1) Qtr 2-3 we get beaten in the clearances and stoppages.
2) we need to at least replace betts, Waite, and hopefully Robinson because of his shoulder

At least we'll be forced to play Graham and Menzel. Other than that we've got some ripping talls and half backs to bring in :banghead:
