Honestly, just stick him in the Bullants.

Something I realised today: We've only played about 3 games this year with Waite, Jamo and Kreuzer (Brisbane, Sydney, West Coast, ?)

THREE GAMES!

And even in the WCE game, Jamo went down early. So it's really only twice.

And in those two games, we played very very well. Looking forward to having all on the park fit and firing next year. Not sure it will happen this year though…but I live in hope!

Where for ever is equal to and not greater than the start of the 2012 season. (our flag winning season.) you're gonna need this little safety clause bluechucky..trust me.

Was it the Richmond game where Waite returned after a month out? Because IIRC he was a sensational that day after being a bit slow to get going. Just saying.

Yes CK he played against Richmond. He took 12 or 13 marks on Will Thursfield, who could not get a punch away all day - he was right on Waite (and others) but had a shocker of a day.

Not sure given the opponent it counts for much.

Geez molsey, my first ever football related post on TC had semi-credibility for a whopping 3 minutes.

Playing Waite would be madness IMO. Even as a sub.

Do not play unfit players in finals. Simple! I even have doubts about Kruezer. Takes 24 months to really get over a knee and he is no where near his best. The issue is that Hampson isn't fit either!

We lack real depth in the key position spots and unfortunately the players we have are injured. Key position players and ruck man really come into their own in finals.

I am really worried if we are relying on Walker, Betts and Garlett to kick goals in finals. Someone else is going to have to step up. Setanta, Gibbs???

Unusually I pretty well agree with you.

From Wayne Brittain today : "... he doubted whether Carlton would enter the game with half-fit players, adding that forward Jarrad Waite was an athlete who took a month to get to peak form."

If Setanta can kick another four this week it will be a massive bonus. Probably won't, but IMO he's our best option.

I have hopes for Kruezer this week. We all know, and expected, him to struggle this year and, except for the Sydney game, I think he has. But. He's had a week off with the bye and then only played a quarter against St.Kilda, so just maybe that'll freshen him up and he'll have a blinder.

I'm still waiting to see what this "Forcefield" business is all about, because it's certainly not about repelling any attacks.

Sage words there.

Who's going to kick goals for Essendon* if Hurley isn't 100% or held like he was in the drawn game?

They're more stretched than us with Crameri out.

Only Carlton has worries.

So if the bummers don't kick any goals they have no hope? I think you're onto something there

Oh yeah. I forgot that he missed a few games before getting injured again.

In that case - were there ANY games when we had all three playing?

Probably should have, with Hurley out, Lloydy will probably be a late inclusion

Moshe, that was part of the Famous dialogue between Groucho (Otis B Driftwood) and Chico (Fiorelli) Marx in "The party of the first part shall henceforth be known as .......... the party of the first part." - "Night At The Opera" (1935). Possibly the best comedy ever.

Maybe we'll end up playing Jamison forward. Took great contested marks as well as reading the play and leading well too in a half against Hawthorn. Admittedly a half isn't much evidence but he looked the part and we're a bit desperate up forward. Hendo, Thornton down back, Jammo, Setanta up forward.

Walker had a damn good final last year but if we lack KP forwards he'll be covered like a blanket and barely be allowed to move. Small crumbing forwards rarely to do in finals given the nature of the role, not slight there on Betts and Garlett, so it's best we give Betts some runs in the midfield if necessary to get him into it.

We might end up giving Levi a run out of desperation. At least he's fit. Don't think it'll come to that though. We'll still have enough I think.
