Back in round 2, when Jamo went down and Bower had to cover Bradshaw, that really let them back in that game. I'd be wary of putting Bower back on Bradshaw again after that. In saying that though, we have tended to cover Brown quite well, so whatever we've done in the past, will do the job now, he's not getting any quicker.

I realllllly want AJ to tag Rich and towel him up. Rising star....pffft, blow it out your bum.

He has done some terrific jobs in the past on high profile forwards
Still quite lacking in confidence when getting his arms above his head. Playing key defender means he'll be doing this quite often in marking situations.

Isn't he averaging around 5 goals a game against us over the last 1/2 dozen meetings?

Nervously confident, confidently nervous about this match.

Could go either way, depending on which Carlton comes out.

Being a final i doubt the gutless Carlton will come out.
We'll have a real crack

We restricted him to 3 goals in round 11. Not as good as zero, but better than 10.

I'm way too nervous. The problem with playing Finals, is that there is no next week if you lose.

My opinion is as somewhere said on here a few pages back, we need to concentrate on our game and the game will be won in the midfield. If we can get the centre clearances and apply enough midfield pressure then you reduce the amount of times Bradshaw and Brown are one on one but midefield pressure is the key.

I would have preferred to see Carlos too but im not unhappy with Cloke. Play Cloke deep in the goal square which means Merrett gets him and they have no-one decent to match the Fev. And play Walks as a mobile CHF.

Lets be Pro-active not re-active, lets make the Lions worry about match ups and not having enough talls to match up our fwds, because if no-one can stop Fev they might be forced to throw Bradshaw down back and our problem is solved.

So again my point is, lets back our mids to win more of the ball and give our fwds better supply and cause them some headaches

What happens when they drop Brennan, Bradshaw and Brown up forward? Guess where Walker will go.

I think they'd like Fev pushing up; Merrett would be used in link-up play when it breaks down at CHF because we try to pick out his leads.

Cloke would be even less damaging because he would get all the high ball to the square that can be fed down easily.

No need to worry too much about match ups. If we come out switched on and tackle hard and push back hard we will be ok.

We dont even really know the final lineups.

I am sure the MC know more than we all do.

But we've been told all year that they don't

I would definitely have preferred Carlos in to Cloke but as other posters have said the game will be won or lost by our midfield.

As far as forward setup is concerned, when we are coming out of defence I would like to see both Fev and Cloke start from close to goal. When Fev leads out he will generally take one or two defenders with him. That SHOULD mean that Fev can be hit with a pass or Cloke is one-out close to goal. Add Garlett & Betts to pick up crumbs then we can kick a winning score.

The only thing l can work out of Cloke coming in to the team is that Cloke/Hamo will ruck and Kruzer into the forwardline to stretch Brisbanes defense.

Hopefully that is the case if Cloke isnt getting smashed in the hitouts.

And please please please...no silly free kicks and definitely no free kicks before the first bounce! Don't want to be behind the eight ball so early!

We've already beaten them twice this year.....what's with all the concern?

Spent a great couple of weeks in Melb and watched the Blue boys.

Get on a plane tomorrow for Brizzy and watch the Blueboys turn around last week's performance.

I'd rather have Setanta in, but Cloke in the square along with a crumber beside him who can chase for Cloke should make Cloke dangerous against the Lions (but not other teams). A fit Drummond on the last line whilst Cloke is there makes Cloke a liability. I can't see Drummond being 100% having done a quad last week.

Lions don't seem to have a match up for Cloke or Setanta.

I'm more concerned with the midfield. That's where the real damage is done. If they get on top, then Brown and Bradshaw will have a ball, and with no Setanta to go back....well, it's a bit of a problem. So we have to win the midfield battle and we can.

Bower and Thornton are no match for the 2 monster Lions forwards but can hurt them going the other way. My guess is that Bradshaw wont play, or he will not be 100%, which poses as a liability for the Lions. Voss wouldn't risk playing unfit players in a do or die final....his first as a coach.

Good delivery is just as important as getting that nut first.

I reckon Wallet did us a favour with his downhill skier comments.

I expect Cloke to kick 3 and Fev 6. Betts and Garlett to snag a couple and the mids to do the rest.

Bad luck to Santy and Yaz. The fact that Santy is up there with the team may be tactical and there may be surprises pulled at the last minute.

Good luck to the Bluebaggers. We should make it 4 wins in a row against the Lions. I hope so.

The kids get a taste of their first final. Kreuzer to star along with Gibbs, Murphy and Walker.

Judd BOG.
