The highly strategic but ultimately bungled decision by the Carlton Football Club to announce after successive losses that it was rebuilding has deepened bitter and long-held divisions between two famous Blues camps.

It has placed more scrutiny on the club's out-of-contract and sensitive-to-the-fact senior coach and shone the blowtorch on the Blues' new list manager Stephen Silvagni when perhaps the purpose of the exercise was to buy Silvagni a lengthy amount of breathing time.

I've gone back to hating Caro.

It was just like an old pair of uggies.

I don't think there's anything crap about the article.

A lot of people on this board were probably happy to hear an admission that the last few years have been rubbish because we've been pointing it out the whole way along.

I'm sure for some people close to the club, it hit rather close to the bone and they feel whatever legacy they've imagined for Sticks and co has been tarnished by such frank admissions.

What I'd like for them now is to shut up and get on with the job.

The article is trying to promote a board division.
wilson didnt get the major interview with the president. .mark robinson got it from the heraldsun..wilson is trying to be relevant by seeking comment from those pro kernahan directors....

Take a flip side argument. If the president didnt say we are not rebuilding and said nothing the age would say we are in crisis with a zip and 3 record. ..the effect would be that malthouse would be on the chopping block. ..sour grapes from the age for not getting the scoop...

The club with its frank admissions is the best thing that could happen for the clubs future...

I agree with your last comment. I just didn't find the article offensive or in any way inaccurate.

If it results in a catalyst of change at Board level I'd be more than happy.

Not unless someone rallies the fans and forms a rival ticket.

SOS might turn out to be god's gift to list managing but the point is the appointment is perceived as yet another powerbroker giving a former club champion mate a key role with no apparent robust selection process.
Club keeps leaving itself wide open to ridicule and we're easy pickings for these types of articles. Slobbo and his Turd worshipping sidekicks and people like Caro are having a field day. They are loving taking the piss.
Slobbo has died and gone to heaven. Scum seemingly in the clear, he can lick Turd's balls again without looking over his shoulder, Carlton is an awful mess and he can gleefully help turn up the heat on his old mate MM.
It's enough to make you puke.

the way they have organised things... its impossible to get them out .. unless the club is totally shot...

and its getting there

what needs to happen and what happens are two totally different things

they have shored themsleves up stone walling everybody else out

i dont want to see anybody added onto the board

the best way is ... nobody new comes in...

going into that environment means they are infected...

just as theyre building walls around them to keep themselves safe..... i wanna see them isolated totally..

with only their patsies going in and nobody else.....patsies wont be capable of helping them.. their shills and shadows

anybody worth their salt would not be going in there now....

they would be biding their time.. until they run out of oxygen in there...

You underestimate their incompetence, grasshopper.

Ex-player Brendan Gale returns to Richmond and it's a marvellous result for the club. Silvagni returns to Carlton and it's the old boy network at play again.

Caro just applying the yellow and black lenses to this one.

Gale might or might not be in business with the president.
SOS is....

how's organising the rival ticket going Synners?
any hope there?

please don't be offended but, I really dislike that you are basically calling human beings cancer spots.
Can you find a different colorful analogy please?
It would be greatly appreciated.

It's enough to make you puke.

Here's the thing KH: MLG became president in June 2014, vice president in October 2013, joined the board in February 2010.

His first act as president was (legally and legitimately, if discretely) tapping up Graham Wright. The presidential handover was months in the making. He then reached out properly to SOS in September 2014 by most accounts.

I don't understand how his plan is necessarily half-cocked given he has been engaged in club operations for years. It would appear he had a fairly calculated plan and he is leveraging every resource at his disposal to accomplish it. Lo and behold he is pissing people off in the process, people who have sat there fat, dumb and happy for sometime. He's also not doing it the way some factions want, pissing more people off.

This is a long-standing culture of finger-pointing and ham-fisted attempts to use old business values to shake loose some opportunities with very little consideration for the football side of things beyond utterances like 'Sign some good players, you nuffs! Oh, and draft right.' People are going to get mad when someone tears up the carpet or pulls out the rug.

What I don't like is the overly negative language from MLG and club staff.
