..on whose ticket? Not so simple. There's a few who would've been great a few years ago, but other circumstances have prevented them from putting in the necessary time or they've been told to back off and give some continuity to the clubs directors for 'stability's sake'.

Yeah, the board obviously needs a bit of continuity.

someone who is friends with a senior player asked him "what the f#$k is going on" and his response was "there is a disconnect between the senior playing group and the coach"

Did he ask him anything else.?

Or is that the sum total of the conversation.?

Maybe you could ask him for some more info, you know since they are friends and all.

For those that watched on the couch tonight, I hope the board took note of how Brian Cook dealt with the famous Geelong 2006 review.

Very pertinent comments for our current situation.

Basically said that the board wanted to act quickly (ie sack bomber) however he said that should only be done after gathering actual evidence and doing a full review.

He conducted over 60 interviews with the relevant parties and acted from there. The rest is history.

This is exactly what the club should do, as I have posted before. Fully ascertain what our issues are and take appropriate action from there.

Making a move on ratts without being truly warranted and/or without addressing other issues would be foolish IMHO.

Not sure if Greg Swan has Brian Cook's savvy to be able to conduct such a review. :?

I'm fairly sure when Pratt was asking about getting "the best" CEO for the club he was told it was Cook. However, Pratt said he wouldn't take him away from Geelong in respect for his close mate Frank Costa so went for Swann.

Missed one there IMHO.

Are you calling Duigan a "senior player"? Because there's no way anyone else on that list could use a three-syllable word like "disconnect" in a sentence like that!!

Jamo could definitely use 'disconnect' in a sentence as well. But after that, I'm struggling.

I think Swann is capable of implementing a full review but I'm not sure the board sees the need for it.

The board needs re-calibrating - then the review and the restructure can follow

We will continue to have the usual annual review.
They know where to look usually.... but they never see anything coming.
