Did anyone else attend the market research seminars at Visy in regards to quality of membership last week? Know they ran about 3-4 seminars...

They are still adding to the tally. Weird! Anyway we now have 45,617 Members.

They're allowed to add most of the memberships this year, which is why Richmond's often farcical figure isn't going to be adjusted. They're also adding to it because they're still allowed to sell 3-game memberships.

Revenue from Membership and gate receipts for Carlton is around $10-12 million. We're still 'spinning wheels' in comparison to Collingwood and Hawthorn until the debt is more manageable and we move more Etihad games to the MCG. I have no doubt that a little tinkering to the membership department, a solid start to the on-field season (and perhaps securing a Good Friday clash) would result in 55k next year.

Meanwhile at Hawthorn, they'll take your cash if you sign up your budgie, cat, horse, mexican walking fish or great uncle Pete who passed away in 1965. Should Carlton do likewise? After all...it's cash. Cash is king.

Just to keep ourselves a bit happier, it appears the Bummers have missed their membership target by 12,000 !!!!!!!!!!!!

That's incredible considering the massive start to the season they had. If we'd still being beating people after round 3 we would have smashed through 50k I would have thought.

A petty victory? Yes, but a petty victory is still a victory.

That would mean having to arrange this fixture "over 2 dead bodies", only one of which will have any chance (thankfully) of resurrection.

Have the official AFL numbers come out yet?

Will be interested to see how many some clubs actually do have, Richmond and Essendon* in particular.

Seems a bit odd that the tally keeps trickling away.

Won't be surprised if it goes up after this weekend either.

Currently we're at 45,801.

The club Should sell a 3 meeting membership which covers:

Next board meeting
Next list management meeting
Next recruiting meeting

Instant 100k members!
