i read an article last night off twtter, maybe an Age article.

who would you rather be a fan of, Carlton or St Kilda.

and the poll results were like 82% in favour of st kilda.

North Carlton Kangablues wasn't an option?

Time to tell Mick your not getting a contract next year you can either coach the year out giving the kids a go (on a rotating basis) or you can step down and an assistant takes over.

give STK had a 3 yr head start on a rebuild you'd sure hope they have a better young list than us. same goes for the dogs.

given more people hate us than them I'd expect that result regardless of the lists.

I love those statements by teams. Coach is safe, next week sacked.

If we get flogged by Bombers, Pies and beaten fairly easy by Saints, l doubt he is there past Round 5. Teams change their minds pretty easily. But, he would come out strong to support the coach and ease the media attention.

why would the coach be sacked when those that hired him are immune to everything???

They chased him for a year and more....

they had plenty of time to understand their list and needs

This is a well executed well planned headhunt ....from a group of people that had to know where the club was at....if they knew their roles at the club

that includes mckay of course....

mckay seems to be a guy that doesnt have a role ...... hes either really really shit at what he does... or nobody asks him and he has no power ... but hangs around for the cash.....

I dont think Malthouse is the problem. The coach is the least of the issues. Infact given a half decent list he would deliver results. We are going that badly that we don't see, he is the best thing going for us. The core of the problem is the lack of football people on the board and a president who has vision to drive the club. The irony is the best recruiting of the last 15 years was done in the last 2 and that isnt saying much with questions over bokehurst at pick 19. The same people who wanted a change of culture are bemoaning the loss of Waite, Garlett and Robinson. The same people who didnt want us to hand out long term contracts criticise the loss of betts. In hindsight we should of kept him but he kicked 20 goals the year before and Thomas style was more of what we needed. Was the problem with the medical assessment. The same people who criticised our lack of 23 to 28 year old spend more time panning everitt, docherty etc instead of the root cause which was a bust on every draft from 2002 to 2011.

yeah, malthouse has definitely got immunity from the board and president as the current mess we're in dates back to rogers & ratten's era of drafting and then failing at development. and truthfully, it's not MM's fault we're here with this list and this playing culture right now.

based entirely on that, i can see MM coaching the year out regardless of results

The trend which is worrying is in his first year we lost our first three games, last year we lost our first four and so far we've lost our first two.

The season is over before it starts which such ill-prepared starts to the year.

That makes too much sense for this board, Michael Jezz

We will go 5 this year at least.
The club now has told the entire list you are shit and we are going to get rid of you from the ground up .
How would you be listening to this crap if you are a player there.
When they say the list is shit they are saying the players are shit

we needed to get fitter so he hired his guru and we look gone after quarter time
we needed extroverts and got a gun (his love child the flower for 700k) as a defensive hf
he was "happy" judd played on because he could sense something special was brewing
he couldn't see losing a game this year but we lose to the tigers and a depleted wc
he won't play the kids because he is going for wins even though it's about the process and not a win/loss ratio
we are going to contest but our players are shit and we need a rebuild

what a !@#$% asshole no wonder the players don't want to play and are leaving

only the manipulated and desperate are going to be left behind

good one micky

this club is gone

How can this not be Malthouses fault. He has turned over half the list to make it worse not better. He continues to play White Ellard Rowe Armfield etc at the expense of kids and plugs holes with various c and d grade recycled players. He has bought in a $700k nothing more then ok outside player who kicks 40m in Thomas and brings in his own coaching/fitness staff!! And its not his fault??
