The club has sent out mixed messages over the years, but this is a clear and definitive message that we've made too many mistakes and we need to rebuild. As long as this message stays consistent then I don't care that it came out after round 2.

It's the right message to send the supporters and the media. We've realised that pre-season expectations to push for finals were far fetched. The message needs to get out that we no longer expect that and shouldn't be measured against that. You may say it's a cop out, I say it's a smart move to be more honest with the supporter base and a preventative measure to stop the media from pounding us with talk of not being a finals team.

Good effort for a change, send this to members and all lapsed members.

Must be seen to making an effort. Might win me back despite the whole Essendon* situation.
Sign mick up though and I'm gone

It's a reasonable turn around time given they've been restructuring their recruitment division. The announcement is as much for current AFL players as it is for the public.

It's pretty shambolic, but they're trying something.

As a matter of interest where can one get a copy of the CFCs constitution.

Would like to see how the board elects its own members without going to the members and other such inbreeding.

It doesn't, every board member has to stand for his or her seat at some point. They can appoint people but they will have to stand for election at the end of the year.

There has been a screening committee installed recently that advises the board on new candidates. They give a recommendation, but a lack of a recommendation does not prevent that individual from standing for election.

yes trying shambolic

actually its just about taking the noose from around their collective necks...

they have just told everyone..." theres nothing more to see for 3 years .. but stick with us.. were ontop of things.. this time... ... i know we said that last time.... but this time we mean it..just wait... it will take 66 games...."

reading that infuriates me.....

Reading this link tells you exactly what they're "doing".

I'm watching what Trigg and The Gooch are doing and its impressive..... Definitely not just words, love this bit

Quote:
Mark LoGiudice: This would be a result of five to 10 years of poor administration and recruiting.

MR: We can all see the recruiting, but the administration?

ML: Yes. You have to look at the whole business. The result on-field is a make up of administration, recruiting and at board level, because the board is ultimately responsible for the football club.

And this:

Quote:
Off-field, the restructure of the club has happened. We’ve got a new CEO, a new CFO which started yesterday, we’ve got a new COO, we’ve got a new branding manager, we’ve got Stephen Silvagni as the new list manager.

I thought it was particularly poignant on the same day bringing the "benefactors" into the conversation in Triggs email.....

I wrote an email to him sometime ago on this very point which really was a culmination of how we all feel on here, I didn't get a reply!!! But I certainly feel the real people that matter are listening

Slowly but surely.....

in case u didnt understand whats going on teaguey.. and i know u have been pushing marks barrow in here for a long time...

but the board is essentially the same board as the one he just blamed...

so in essence hes basically told us .. they themselves are shithouse!!!.. but of course.... hes set up the filtering system to make sure that he approves of any nominees...

im not sure what it is youre loving.. but take heed of what im loving...

Not a great fan ot announcing 3,5 or 10 year plans but i've been screaming for them to stop bullshitting us (Mick is complicit in this) pre season and tell us where we are and what we intend doing, so i can't really complain now that they appear to have "come clean".

I don't think he's said they ARE shithouse, he's said they WERE shithouse. The impression I get is that MLG believes he can lead the current board far more effectively than anyone has in recent years and that he will turn the ship around.

so the board was shithouse and now theyre not shithouse because hes in charge.... and in round 2 .. he gathered his wits as they all did...

but before that... they were after cameron and trreloar and sheils and dangerfield

but now nobody wants to come..... theyre smart??

oh ok....

we just need 3 more years........ even though its the same people at the top... that oversaw the last rebuild....

mark was sitting there quietly biding his time.. and round 2 he and trigg come out and tell us to forget footy for 3 years... there will be nothing...

not that i didnt think that... i did...

can u smell what theyre cooking???

listen... thats flower boloney

I'm seeing significant action Synners, the difference in the last 6 months compared to the last 10 years is pulpable.

I think it's extremely poignant the oligarchs are brought up in an email from the CEO.... I know you'll never agree Synners but I said at the time when the "committee" to effectively screen board candidates was put forward it was a strategic move to make it significantly harder to build factions on the board i.e strengthen an oligarchs position.

I predict no Mathos or Pratts factions on the board within 2 years, 3 max. Should be end of this season, but they'll scratch and fight as hard as they can.

All positions important in the administration turned over, recruitment strategy put in place, significantly improved engagement with supporters.

It's happening Synners, make no mistake

hmmmmmm i get it.... mark isnt blaming the board at all... hes blaming ... wait for it

sticks.. which the board was electing president each year
swann.. who the board kept rolling his contract over each time and renewing
hughes... and then rogers
... did i miss anybody???

you know this reminds me of apocalypto...

poor flowers get dragged up to the top of the flower mayan pyramid.. and they have their hearts cut out by the witch doctors and heads hacked off .. you watch the heads and bodies roll and bounce down each step into a massive heap of headsamd bodies at the bottom... all so the sun comes up tomorrow...

crowd cheers and fortunately the sun comes up tomorrow

are these blokes for real???

do they have no shame???
