Mark - I think you mean our players not the supporters.

Clarity hit me today after the dust settled from Monday night. How are Hawthorn, Geelong, Collingwood doing ATM? The strategy is not to peak in round 7. Yes it hurts that Essendon* are flying, but werent they this time last year? Weren't the media talking top 4 for them round 7 last year? How did that work out for them? Lets judge in October how are team list, game plan, coaching staff are because I reckon maybe, just maybe we have it right.

Panic merchant arguement doesn't wash. 2007-2012....come on 120 games so far....what is your time limit?

What ideas have you got?

Here is another one you can carpet bag

Retire Scotland and make him Captain of the seconds?
Get an ex afl coach to coach Bullants?
All bullant home games to be played at Visy Park
Mirror Geelong and trade our pick between 18 & 25 for two in the 20s or one in the 20s and one in the 30s.
Consider Trading Jamieson if you get a first rounder

My point is my ideas may not be the right one but where is the momentum, lateral thinking & progression since dick left? Pick 11 for Mclean doesn't cut it. (I have to admit the Fevola deal was a good one and demonsrates the type of thinking required but that was nearly 3 years ago).

The reason for my argument is Im not convinced that we need ideas. All this nonsense goes on about game plan, Ratts and Sticks. If we play like we did against CW there is no team that can beat us. And you know what? We will bring it again in Sept. I saw a post yesterday said we cant win 2 finals with Ratts as coach. Walker gets that free V WC and guess what?

But to these points and there are some good ones
Scotland - not yet, will add great maturity and drive in Sept.
Ex AFL Coach - not bad - Gary Ayers?
Long been a believer that everything Carlton should be Navy blue, Blues, Princes Park. Simple branding. Everytime a person has contact with the club - these 3 things need to ring. Kill off Preston. If they want their own club - go for it. I believe it is $110K to have a stand alone VFL team? Simple and cheap marketing exercise. Thin list of players? Lets start getting creative and looking at best players (regardless of age) at O&M, Gippsland, SANFL, WAFL. This could be an area where we get competitive advantage. I sincerely believe that.
Trades - all depends on draft. This one being a 'Super Draft' then possible.
Jamo - good talls are rare as hens teeth. He is the rock in the back line that we build on to win a flag

Pssssssst, Pssssssst MJ.

Check this out.

After 7 Rds, Carlton 4th, 5/2 win loss. Highest percentage in the comp at this point.

Where will it all end. Get back to me in September.

The one thing I hated about this match other than the obvious, was at every chance a Saints player would bump or block at every stoppage... with no response or change from our players!

Silly argument this one.

I'm actually not sure Synbad was arguing with my post but I could be wrong. Actually I'm not sure what he is on about to be honest. I just put up some facts I found on the net to answer his question and off he went about Bomber Thompson and doing burn outs. :yikes: :yikes:

Regards Cazzesman

What was the question?
Was it was Ratten and Bomba Thompson the same person and is the list the same in the same years???

The answer is no.. Thompson and Ratten are not the same person and their lives and fortunes are independant of each others.

any other philosophical answers you wish answered there Mr Cazz???

-Mindset, too flat too often. Not playing the precentages. Too lazy. No chasing.

-Soft, no other word for it. Essendon* set the tone, Hawthorn have done it to us for years, bottom line, we're scared and a statement needs to be made. Nothing stupid or "Line in the Sand" type all-in (Although it might not hurt) but at least show you won't be pushed around

-Talk is cheap. All week we heard about how filthy they were with the performance against GWS, we hear about "cracking in" and "raring to go" Who cares? Show it on the field!

Thornton is in our best 22, he can play both ends, he presents well and he's got good hands.

- Small things, A key moment in the game last night, Rhys Stanley took a mark on the 50 and Hampson told Judd to stand the mark so he could go to the goal line. Judd refused and stood doubled over taking a breather about 10 metres away. Not good enough from the captain and sets a very bad example.

All this. Glad someone else saw the Hampson/Judd thing - I couldn't believe it.
