Would be interested to compare these figures to ABS stats on population growth, if I could be bothered.

Barring massive drop offs in form, a club with the means to consistently spend on membership over a sustained period of time should always be increasing in size. An increase of only 2000 for a team considered flag favourites during the drive is shitful.

Pretty sure the club is saving money by putting Gen Y in charge of membership. When they don't have a degree you can can get away with paying them far less coin than the alternative of having someone university educated coupled with experience. But hey...it's only membership right? Not important.

When do you think Gen Y started Dane?

The answer is no one from Gen Y should be Membership Manager for the Carlton Football Club.

She's just a peon anyway. I really don't mean any disservice to her in her job and it'd be wrong of me to second-guess what she knows about membership. I have no idea if she's tried to get ideas through and the board membership sub-committee of Germinder, Fried, Gleeson, LoGuidice and Jeannie Pratt have knocked them back. So if i may - I'll take it back what i said in reference to the staff member who oversees membership.

But there are problems. Wouldn't you like to have a ready-made experienced membership manager running the show? One who wasn't being interfered with by a board sub-committee that probably shouldn't exist in the first place? I would. I'd love them to win the customer back. Personally - I'd love them to at least try to get me back. But we're average in membership Dane. Average. That might be the Carlton you're accustomed to...but it's not the Carlton I once knew.

I agree wholeheartedly Doc. I had though Mrs Pratt was helping shake some things up this year, but sadly nothing appears to have happened...

My problem with your post was with the pot-shotting of Gen Y.

Fair enough. Who gets the chop? The sub-committee or the peon? Sad state of affairs isn't it?

Particularly sad.

There should be more.

I, like many others didn't buy my memberships waely, but eventually did because of my love for the club.

Last Friday when the number was 45572 I bought another bunch of memberships (friends' kids who would attend 5 games) but not my usual...I'm still in protest mode.

And to the Board...this year is making me really sick and sad and doesn't warrant being part of a club which isn't inclusive by nature...and no way will I be doing what I just did on Fiday if there isn't significant change off field at the end of the year...oh yeah...and a really good recruit from trade just like the Swans do regularly.

As for all the others I buy memberships for...I'm not. That's part a of my protest. Part b will be next year.

I did not receive a single call to renew my membership....CFC are not managing the memebership dept well, or they don't want me as a member. Looks like the latter to me.

interesting you haven't been contacted. I was contacted about renewing even though I had a current membership.
