One year I can understand for Simon White but if he is getting a regular games in 2 years time then you know we are in serious trouble on the field

Not really.

Stood up all year when highly credentialed players sooked it up.

They are rewarding the right kind of character.

We are bringing in kids and they are going to need some muscle.

He's versitile without being flashy.

Agree about him helping out the kids and being a great character and team man but he is a very ordinary footballer

Whitey is a good soldier that will provide needed support for Weitering and the other young guys.

White would be on $200k.

And Gorringe is a total spud. Offered up to every club over trade week and no takers

I really like White. He can play tall and medium, really tough, great clubman and a handy 3rd tall. Happy he git two years. And saying player X won't be part of our next flag side....the #1 draft pick this year might be 45 when we win our next flag, and I cd have been the sub for the Hawks this year and the still wd have won the flag. White has had loads of injury and is a better player than most here give credit and I am happy to give extra credits for tough, that was clearly the theme with who we traded out this year. And enough woith wanting to delist draftees who have only just finished their first year. It can take players more than a single year to develop.

white is improving and hasn't reached his peak yet.

we'll be nowhere near the pointy end of the ladder for the next 2-years, so his signing is pretty good. he improves the hardness and toughness of the team. he's a good guy for the incoming group of kids to take lead from and white will also be a bit of a bodyguard for them on the field.

If it was every club he'd be on our list by now.

Happy to have white around of the field but he should b no were near our best 22. If he's playing it means a youngster like plowman isn't playing. White wouldn't get anywhere near a top 8 teams best 22 or even list for that matter so if we want to move for rebuilding we can't keep playing 27 year olds that aren't improving and are no good

So let's give him a two year contract then.

I know it doesn't justify a 2 year deal alone, but white does some very good work with the younger boys (ie helped Cam Giles through his rehab for 2 years) and is very involved in charity work for the club.
With the state of the playing group culture at the moment, and having to trade guys for unders every year because the club is incapable of helping players through personal issues (who are able to resolve their issues with the help and support of their new clubs), you could do a lot worse than having White on the list for 2 years through a rebuild when there is a distinct lack of leadership in the playing group.

Changing subject (I'm a White fan FWIW), and forgive me if this has been posted elsewhere, but what are our list numbers now?

If 11 have gone from our primary list, and we've brought 5 in, does that mean there are 6 spots to be filled (by picks or rookie upgrades)?

Assume we will use 1, 8, 11 and 19. You'd think we'll keep pick 1 in the pre-season. That leaves one more pick for Silvagni? Which would mean no delisted free agents?

Or have a missed something?

Assuming 6 Cat A rookies, it's currently:

32/38 Senior list
3/6 Cat A rookie list
2/3 Cat B rookie list

But if we can go up to 40 on the senior list, though it comes at the expense of both a nominated rookie spot and a spot on the Cat A rookie list (so 39/5/3, 40/4/3).

Thanks Jimmae.

So I've got it right:

Rookies - Cat A (current): Gowers, Sheehan, Wood
Cat B (current): Korcheck, Byrne?
