In all honesty, the widespread potting of our list as 'the worst ever' and the general consensus that Carlton will be in the wilderness for another 5 years and will win the next 3 spoons...almost guarantees that we will do OK next year. How often do the various 'experts' ever get it right. Bulldogs were meant to be hopeless this year and Wet Toast were also meant to be hopeless. This time last year all the experts were predicting Gold Coast into the finals! Pffttt!!

The experts said STK wouldn't win a game in 2015.

We'll be crap. But we won't be the crappest team ever as the carlton hating 'experts' are hoping we'll be.

Be nice to have an up and coming KPF like STK, plus find some lively young small forwards. Some good trading & drafting goes a long way....see how ours go next season.

A lot will be decided by how well the amazing quartet perform.
I'm expecting good seasons from Murphy, Gibbs, Kreuzer and Thomas, under the tutelage of a refreshed and revitalized coaching panel.
Bolton is a strong leader and should inspire better things.
Very interesting path ahead and what direction and influence he brings.

Had an interesting point made to me by someone the other day who said "You don't get drafted if you can't play".
Sure we've got some pretty big holes in the list and plenty of players with shortcomings, but development and coaching have a big impact on our fortunes, I'm hopeful that Bolton can address that side of the equation. I don't see us bounding gaily up the ladder but we should be able to eke out an extra win or two next season.

i'd expect us to be a bottom 5 team ... but in saying that i'd expect us to go down swinging each and every week. i want to see us fight under bolton and start the culture shift needed to go forward after this season. we have no depth, so once we're about a half dozen injuries into our list, we'll lose. a lot.

losing with dignity would be nice. haha.

I think we'll struggle to be competitive if KJ plays

I'm not saying it would fix everything, but having a modern day game plan and some luck with the injury list would fix everything!

I think the key word you mentioned is "hoping".
The bashing of Carlton at the moment is disgraceful, some of it warranted, but other clubs are struggling too, including Essendon*, yet we are the only ones getting hammered.

Our list isnt that bad.....just needs bloody good development. two arms and two legs. needs structure and the right attitude.

Devevlopment is the focus and experience i expect BB to bring to the table - it is clearly the reason he has been chosen

a couple of wins early in the season, better than anticipated results or mid year sitting 12-14th and everyone will be sugesting the new blues have plenty of upside ie a team on the rise.

imagine if Murphy, Gibbs, Kruezer, Simpson start well

we see continued upside in Cripps, Docherty, Buckley, Byrne, Casboult, Boekhurst, Graham

the view on our list changes quickly.

Holman I can understand. Run of the mill mid with no apparent strengths.

Walsh had something in him, he is a beast so that's a bit disappointing. (if true)

Walsh - slow & can't kick. No tricks.

Holman - can tackle like crazy (was leading the VFL for tackles at the mid way point despite having missed 2 games) and can kick.

To be honest, I don't either one are much. I didn't rate Holman at all.

Having said that, any player who is delisted this year knowing Jones still gets a spot should be filthy.

I'm assuming Armfield must be safe.
