No he's not. He'll lose me if this crap continues. He's already losing others.

This is an in house matter and he shouldn't be using my club as his play thing to shore up his future.

There may be the board and there maybe the players, but there's also the supporters.

People power can turn against MM if he continues with that sort of shit.

It's only round 1 FFS and he's playing positioning politics with 25 weeks of the season to go.

Wallace didn't see light of day at the Swans and Roos came in....remember why?

@#$%&! I'm so angry right now, and watching Bettsy on TV makes me feel similarly towards MM as I did towards Stkilda about Hamill till he retired.

Betts kicked 4 today....50 last year.

Mick owes us a replacement.

If Mick finishes this year and hasn't found a goalkicking FP then he's [REDACTED] us up!

He will be remembered for this.

Mick should just focus on infield success because he and everyone else has known since last year the decision on extending his contract or not will be made at the end of the year.

Like Bluegirl I'm still confident we can have a good season if the coach and his assistants get their shit together.

There hasn't been a real feeling of onfield confidence amongst the playing group since the 90's.
Doesn't look like Mick can produce it either.

I thought they had it late last year for the first time in yonks.

This. Losing Waite was the only major change.

Maybe.
it might be the entire playing group is behind him. Thursday may just have been a matter of everyone having a bad night or first game jitters.

If we start playing better we can breath a little easier.

But the facts are that in his first two seasons MM hasn't had the side ready for the start of the year.

0-4 or 1-3 and that would be 3 years in a row. Not really a sign that the guy has the situation covered. Quite unforgivable really for a senior coach.

Correct. 3 losses to start 2013. 4 to start 2014. 1 out of 1 in 2015.

100% a coaching issue.

I don't mind losing players when their time at the club is up

We've lost 4 first 22 players in recent times (waite, betts, garlett, robinson) and the ONLY compensation that we got was picks 61 + a 79 (pick upgrade from 83)

That is unacceptable

Judd? - pfft... IF playing garlett/robinson so that they retained SOME trade value was going to cause judd issues, then he could have retired at the end of 2014. Clubs should never allow any player to dictate who should/shouldnt be played and impact list management i.e. trade value of other players

We would have secured a first round pick for Betts had we not signed Thomas.

Doesn't matter either way as we'd still be mediocre .

Poor governance, drafting and coaching has shot this club to bits.

Was watching Melbourne yesterday...you couldn't help but be impressed with what Roos has done with that rabble.

Yes, there are new players - but we were at the same drafting table.

The thing that stood out was their harder attitude and sense of playing for each other - something that was missing last Thursday

I feel ill again.

Why did you have to remind me jimmae?

Will we get value from the Thomas pick.
Didn't think so after he got injured, but now I have a bit of hope Thomas will return to the fold in 8 weeks. I hope he's fit enough to show us the trade was worth it...otherwise another blemish on MM.

I'm still a fan of the MM selection but I'm just a fan who heard that players were not ..let's say... Convinced in Rattens ability.

If MM hasn't turned this club around this year and by round 16 we should know, then not only has he blemished his career and the club but he has also blemished the people who backed him...and I will spit on his grave if he goes before me.

If he gets us into a GF, he will be my hero.

Time will tell....I'm not very happy with him at present, but I expect us to win against the WCE, only coz I don't rate them

If only we'd waited one year.

We could have been 2 points from a prelim...

∴ no Roos

I'm well aware of that however... Coulda woulda shoulda. Fact is, in making the decision to pick up thomas, we got nothing.

The thomas FA pick up was driven by mick and given the age profile, injury history and the mixed messages re: where the team was at (not far from contending/rebuilding), was a very questionable decision.

Regardless of where you see the list, getting some compensation for losing best 22 players means that we have a significantly better chance of building the list for the future.

Getting effectively compensation for losing 4 X first 22 players was pathetic.
