It all comes down to two things: how is the club going to deal with the issue? What role can supporters play in this? I struggle to believe that the best thing supporters can do is walk away.

I will still attend games, they'll still get my gate receipt money. I am not, however, going to pony up $xxx to them now in the form of a membership. I don't think this club right now warrants that from me. I've been on board every year since 99. If they can prove through actions (not press conferences, and not telling everyone how angry they are) that they're serious about addressing this issue throughout the entire club then I'll have no issue getting back on board. Having stick rant and rave at players in an act of stunning hypocrisy won't cut the mustard for me.

I don't ask for much, being a member. I don't demand success. All I ask for is that they honor my commitment by being professional and giving themselves every chance to succeed. They are taking the piss out of members with this sort of stuff. Members through the 2000s put up with a lot of crap from this club, and were signing on in record numbers during the worst on-field period in history. It's not good enough. THEY are not good enough. Every leader at the club is accountable for this.

Just reported on SEN that a senior AFL player is being investigated for rape overnight.

This better not be Carlton related!!!

Agree Punter...they're not getting the $ from me until they can show me that they're serious about how modern sporting organisations are run on and off-field. There are no excuses anymore. The media already have the club over a barrel.

What's sad is that I know I'm getting some great 'Carlton' Christmas gifts this year (gave the family a generic list and pointed them in the direction of Leskie's Auctions and some decent memorabilia stores) and whilst they'll be fantastic - they'll be tinged with a touch of head shaking and some ribbing from the Essendon* brother-in-laws. I can't be stuffed arguing - so I'll just shrug my shoulders and agree. Pathetic.

It already started last night from a Collingwood mate. It's pretty sad when you can't even muster a half-hearted defence. I'll be getting tonight from the Essendon* side of the family.

I think everyone needs to take football players down off their hero pedestals and lower their expectations.

Football players are the same snotty nosed shitheads you get pissed off at in the shopping centres, on the buses, on the trains, in the pubs, at the beach etc - young rowdy flower kids with not much care or clue for the world around them.

But cos these shitheads can kick a footy and run a bit and pump weights and get overpaid everyone seems to worship them and think they are geniuses all of a sudden

I understand that with being a highly paid footballer comes responsibility but i think we expect far too much from them, its beyond them - they dont have the mental capacity

I enjoy watching them play football though - thats about as far as it goes for me nowadays , they are merely shitheads kicking a footy around and nothing more.

Not Heroes, not Role models , not Saviours, not Angels , not Perfect never were and never will be.
POTW!

I just shrugged my shoulders & said I hoped Houlihan was at least wearing his good jocks.

Anyone got the best email address to contact the club on?

Bombard the club with emails of disgust.

As all this sort of behaviour obviously wasn't just because of Fev's influence now, lets get him back asap !!!!!!

never done it before but have just emailed the club, demanding the entire club be called to account, not just these individuals.

I worry that wayne Swan seems to be a holy man in an unholy place.

Never been this angry. Synbad is spot on. This is a sympton of a greater illness.

I just sent the club a warning that I won't renew my membership if things don't improve

I am not that uspet about Houlihan/Walker even betts as isolated incidents. They are a personal ambarassment to those people.

What I am disgusted about is that someone decided a booze cruise was the best way to get together. Getting smashed in a public place just 2 months after fev dragged the club through the gutter.
Holding a rookie down and forcing him to drink beyond his capabilities then delivering him to family semi-conscious is a disgrace to all the team.
I know Collingwood fined a player $20k and dared the AFLPA to get involved. i'm sick of these pissy fines.

i don't know what the best thing to do is but I am disgusted with the players that represent this club.

I'll still buy my memberships no problem.

Fair dinkum if any person in this City has not heard about the blitz on in the City streets at present and then choose to get shit faced and arrested for D&D then they need to suck it in and suffer the penalty. Eddie has had two chances, at minimum he should be a 6 week suspension and training away from the club. With his record of keeping fitness levels up, we'll know how serious he is.

You're mad if you think he'll open even one of them.

My prediction: CTRL+A, Delete.
