Yep.

At least they didn't drop Yarran and Austin. I was worried Fish would play at there expense

Does anyone else find it strange that Cloke isn't an emergency.

Lets hope that unless Cloke can play some very good games at VFL level that he won't be brought back up.

..looks like krooz and hammer will be handlin' the ruck, so wiggins is gonna have to work v.hard to help out fev as a marking/leading target.. ..liking betts having joseph up there, i think they'll combine v.well.. .... ..and good to see Gibbs on the HFF, he's got a bit of height, a good HFF type frame i reckon.. ..and a good work ethic, i hope they give him license to be creative since wiggins and russell tend to play negating roles up forward..

Absolute disgrace regarding Browne especially for his development.

The one bonus is that Fisher wasn't picked.

Side looks a bit tall to me. Lack of midfield roatations.

Happy with our change. Not so with theirs. THey look a lot stronger without Rocca, Thomas and Cloke holding them back. Expect them to have a bit of energy about them this week. I reckon we will get over them in the end but it will be a struggle for a while.

Nope!!

Setanta has shown more form than Cloke in the last month. Evident by naming him as an emergency. Common sense prevails. I suppose it's a case of better late than never.

It is not Cloke's fault he was left out there to look hopeless, the MC should be able to pick a players' form over a two week period max...otherwise they burden the club with more passengers.

I wonder if he's going to be able to show enough on sub standard grounds and sub standard ability around him to break back into the team.

Time will tell.

Sure injury may have a lending hand, but with players like Warnock, Walker, coming into the team in the 2nd half of the year, and Grigg, Carrazzo, Bentick and Johnson in the mix there's going to be a bit of shhuffling and I expect a better team making it even harder for anyone outside the preferred 22 to break into the team in the 2nd half of the season.

Furthermore, looking at this week's selections Cloke is behind Kreuzer, Hampson, Waite, Austin (very happy about that) and Setanta for a forward ruck role. In fact the MC have the badly out of form and considerably shorter Wiggins preferred as the KP over Cloke.

Cloke is not the future, neither is Fisher and neither is Wiggins (circa post round 2).

I really hope Wiggins performs on the big stage, because one more crap game from him, and I'm really going to go berserk. I don't like the idea of carrying an average footballer out of form who is taking up the placeof a developing youngster with more upside.

Please, please lets just win this...and if we smash them by 88 points so be it.

Lets play a team game and move the ball faster ala NAB cup.

Agreed.

For a kid who had an interupted preseason and missing the NAB and early rounds, he needs as much run into his legs as he can get, let alone real match time.

This will be the 3rd weekend in a row he isn't playing senior footy at AFL/ VFL level.

What are going to do with him this week? Play him in the Ants 2nds? Are they playing?

I'm at a loss.

8 changes is a hell of a lot but 4 of those 8 are clearly in the 'Pies Best 22 imho (Medhurst, Davis, Anthony and Reid).

I can only hope they play O'Brien on Fev and play the whole forward line into form as a result. Does Malthouse still play 1 on 1 in defence?

I'm happy to see Cloke omitted and Yarran/Hampson/Austin kept in the side from last week. Also glad to see Robbo back.

Disappointed with the management of Browne however......if we have some injuries and/or poor form against Collingwood we now won't be able to bring him in the following week due to a lack of match fitness.

No doubt he'll be paid big $ to tell his story to one of those women's magazine...I for one couldn't care less what he and his gay lover do - that's their business.

Even worse, he's been seen trying to bump off other's men too. That'll attract the attention of the courts some day, if not already.

Back to the team, I'd have been very surprised if any of Hammer, Austin or Yarran lost their place in the team from last week. All did some nice things for mine. Cloke has struggled with this big marking role all year except in very open games against small defences eg Dogs and Lions, but even then, he wouldn't stand out more than other forwards. Yarran and Betts on the G - can't wait.

I was surprised that after the massive hooplah of joy we had from last week's team selection that so many have got upset this week from virtually the same team...putting the dark days of 2002-2008 aside you know it's rather normal to lose games, particularly when you play like complete and utter shit like we did last weekend.

Wouldn't that be a great interview.
