all it says its righting a wrong from 2 years ago ...

This group before we completely stuff it , needs a strong leader and proper footy dept

All theses coaches except for Luke power ( who will survive in my opinion) have been at the club way too long unfortunately

Clean slate for everyone and start a fresh, with new voices and ideas

Says a lot about the club for repeatably putting us in this position

Absolutely media driven we won a couple of games , liddle got Teague on the cheap and sold
It to the Board with natural development everyone’ will bloom and they can keep focusing on the debt and keep paying that down

There greatest achievement they are selling is that the club is debt free , so what !!

They are afl entity and they can never go broke ,

I don’t know anyone is excited about that !!

RL just spoken about Carlton job on FC
He says if job is open he is behind Clarkson and he Clarkson would be Carlton boards first choice
Says he wouldn’t coach Collingwood but if Carlton called he would take the call
Admits some people connected to Carlton are advocating for him
Admits he is thinking about coaching again

IMO
Ross is our next coach Frank.
He virtually announced it without formally doing so.
The mail around is that Clarko will have the year off.
I loved watching ED's face when Ross said things would have been different if Ed was still Pres.
He was bleeding.
Called Collingwood unstable

We were once great, thought we were greater than the rest, a certain arrogance, and fell victim to our own ideas about ourselves, so what is the solution now? Break the patterns that have got us where we are, but how does success come when we only have ideas about what our own identity should be based on faded memories?

He's been brutally honest to Ed the whole time he's been on that show. I've loved it

Look.....everyone...just look at the basket case of a place we have become on the field...week after week....NOTHING!!!...nothing to walk away from and reminisce about for the week...remember the feeling you used to get from feeling proud about telling everyone that oh were a Carlton supporter!! It has pained me so so much to put up with this crap for so so long. I ask you this: are you really satisfied with the mediocrity that has engulfed this club - especially under the watch of DT and to a lesser extent Mark Lod...we finally have a new president!!!! A relatively young man who actually has a clue on how to run a successful organisation....Think of the glory days...I know it was 20 +!years ago but how can you not get excited about the prospect of a fair dinkum legitimate coach in Lyon who is chomping at the bit to get back into the caper and grab some success. I don’t understand why so many people are having reservations and qualms about this and that...?....we have just had our first proper exhaustive review that will give us a new and kick arse football department to work with a young and exciting talented list...things are on the up, I can assure you! I’ve supported this club with a microscopic eye for the best part of 30 years. I know the fire still burns with many to see this club do well again...there are still plenty of people out there that can remember our once great club. They will be out there still doing there but to help this team be great again. This club is done with its teething issues of failed coaches and recruiting. Our standards are going to improve again so that we are in the mix again to win flags. This weekend I will be relieved that the rot is over...next week a new era begins! I ask you to find that long lost hope again and join me in embracing a new chapter...a chapter where we will not be let down like we have been for too long...long enough!!! Let’s reclaim our bluebagger swagger again!! It’s not lost...the tide is about to bring it back from far out at sea and we will be confident again to sing our great club song like yesteryear!! Go blues!

Agree Deano I thought Clarkson reference was a deflection ie saying that Caro had been right with Clarko leaving hawthorn and is probably right in thinking Clarko was coaching next year at Carlton
Yes priceless McChins squirming when he said he wouldn’t take the call from the Carringbush

I thought he was also being a bit coy or not so effusive about himself because Teague is still in the job

If I had my money on it it would be RL after tonights Fc but at least it seems that it is a choice between RL and Clarkson and if Clarkson takes a sabbatical then RL is our man

As a counterpoint I do note that Whateley on fox suggests that he thinks Clarkson will coach next year

Ross now talking about Justin Langer setting standards with Australian cricket team and how he had to impose standards on the Australian cricket team after the Sandgate affair and had to be tough and has been the hallmark of being comfortable being uncomfortable to be able to get them to a functioning team again and performing
Says sometimes this is tough but need to set standards in those circumstances :smoking:
The dress rehearsal continues

Clarko can take a year off & get paid 900k to do so can't he? Because if that's the case I'm thinking he will probably take the year off. Unless he has his heart very much set on coaching Carlton

That was gold tv , announcing himself as the next coach of Carlton without saying it , and telling Ed mchin that he told the pies thanks but no thanks so good !!

Side note , the Eddie betts comments how sps has been frustrated this year with playing down back ...

I thought he wanted to travel OS to study other sports coaching methods. With COVID that may no longer be feasible. So he's probably confronted with ''bird in the hand'' scenario. Me thinks Collingwood beckons.
