The fact of the matter is we are playing against a team with 1 million more to spend on players. The AFL is overjoyed because people in Sydney are watching TV. They don't go to the games but that doesn't matter. Look at Brisbane. hey are shit. Nobody goes to the ground. They are down the bottom where they belong. That's where Sydney would be if they didn't have the cola.
The entire competition is designed around TV ratings and Collingwood getting blockbusters. As long as they can get away with that mentality the money keeps rolling in. The poorer clubs have no alternative but to roll over and agree to every concession the Swans, GWS, Suns get because to buck the AFL is to perish.

Not sure that I'd be using COLA as an excuse for this.

We're shit.

We can do this shit against any team.

Give us an extra million a year for ten years and see what end of the ladder we are. take it off Sydney and see where they are.
Brisbane won their flags on the back of extra salary cap money. They had three or four brownlow winners in the team at the same time.
Sydney has an extra million and are being given an armchair ride to the finals every year.
GWS and the Suns have extra salay cap and extra draft picks and between them will dominate the competition for the next ten years. Along with Sydney.
Money = success.

Doesn't explain their draft choices from the first three rounds over the last ten years compared to ours.

The whole issue is how the plan that worked for a half goes down the drain because some players can't keep the concentration and effort required. Not MMs fault

Rubbish
This loss sheets back to the poor performing visy controlled board under kernahan and swan..since 2006. Woeful recruitment and development that cant build a premiership list....

If it's rubbish, why do they do this week after week? They don't play us every week.

Good to see that we are having a go. Who is the brain dead idiot who decided that Walker should do the majority of the kick ins from points and kicks from deep in defence. He is a good player but he is totally useless at kicking accurately to position and should not set foot in the 50 metre defensive arc ? Why aren't Kade Simpson or Jaimeson doing the kick ins ? I don't get it.

I take that back re "having a go "

No we need midfielders.

Fair is fair and Mick will cop it from the beginning just like those before him. Dud appointment. Called dull thinking at the time and proving to be correct.

We could win two quarters here and still lose by nearly 12 goals.

Not denying any of that.
But how many teams could assemble the list the swans have assembled if they didn't have an extra million?
Give this exact list to Carlton and tell them to take a million dollar pay cut and see how many stick around.

Youre not going anywhere with C grade midfield.. the players cant give more.. they know theyre not upto it.

Quote:
"The thing that will be forgotten is that ... Mick Malthouse or any coach for that matter is that they are walking into a club and a side that, with their best 22, is as good as anyone in the competition," Carey said.

"I think that all the Carlton people have to look at Brett Ratten and say that he has left the club in a lot better situation than what it was when he took over.

"He has laid the foundations for the club to go forward and play finals football and maybe even a premiership."

Carey described the Blues' coaching position as "a plumb job".

"That's why Mick Malthouse is not silly. Their best 22 is a top five side in the competition. I think they proved that earlier
