I guess its only a matter of time until we try to make our monogram contain the names of premiership players or something.

Ouch...didn't have to wait long...and its even worse than premiership players names on the Guernsey

Even at this early stage I'd say at worse you have 21 of 22 players there.

No VFL games this week won't help anyone desperate to make their way into the team.

Only injury could make a mess of that team.

I know. Thought they might organise a praccy match.

Guys like Bell, Cachia, Watson should also be pushing for a spot.

That would be a bit of a shift from what Malthouse has done so far this season. The extra tall in the forward line is a huge step that I don't think he will take.

My guess will be Casboult wont make that line up and Armfield will hold his spot. Give us more run and midfield rotations that Malthouse loves. Of course anything can happen on Monday night too. Injuries or Hampson continuing his form from last week.

Good to see our 22 starting to come together.

You still can't see what value Ratten and MM see in Armfield.
Footy commentators are even including him as an amigo.

I'll give you a hint:

*speed in abundance for pricks like Cyril in the backline or Shaw in the forwardline
* disciplined as he sticks to a task and delivers
*good kick at goal and in general play. Has overcome this weakness.
*Can mark
*tackles like he's played rugby all his life. They tick,
*Real team player, does the 1%ers, and provides options.
*effort, first second third and fourth....duracell
*runs out games
*has plenty of AFL experience

......I could go in....in short, he's a gem.

Looking at your team, he only needs one spot from...imo he's infront of any of the following...Ellard, Curnow, Tuohy, Lucas, McLean...I'd drop Casboult with Waite and Kreuzer there to keep Armfield's pace on the field....same with White.

I rate Armfield, and have for years.
Really have enjoyed him getting better every year.

I remember when you and a couple of other TCers use to rate Browne (in particular) and Anderson and OKeefe ahead of Armfield (because he wasn't born in the game like Setanta  )...and yet Armfield is still here, doing really well, listed in the bests, awhilst most TCers and Carlton sceptics have taken their hat off the man.

What's the story?

I really like the way our backline is coming together. That back 6 is as good as any we have had in the last 10-15 years. With assistance from Scotland it is not just strong defensively but can create some great attack.

Assuming no late change, if sub had to be chosen from those four, the sub would be the bearded one.. But got a feeling yazz won't play and Cachia will comeback in to take his place as sub.

White extremely stiff IMO...must be a structural thing, doubt he was dropped on form.
