Didn't Hendo play against Cloke (the log) last time? If you get the ball to ground and run off him, Cloke is hopeless. He's main strength is contested mark. Take that away and he's just taking up oxygen.

Robbo is plain embarrassing on that 360 clip. Is he always drunk? Speaks like it.

I know people who tried to get tickets for this game last night and no luck. Apparently only a few seats here and there left.
With great weather forecast there should be over 90,000 people crammed in.

I dont what Robbo said that makes him so disgraceful. :?
He's just a journo and lets be honest, he's a pretty successful one.
Am I missing a bit of the victim gene or something?

Golly, that GarTlett fellow will have to step up if we are to win.

Collingwood certainly look very beatable with Beams, Thomas and Ball missing.
I'm expecting a much improved effort from our mids and think it will be a close match.

Super pumped for this one.... for me the key is the use of the ball going forward, if they pressure us and we bomb it in we will lose and lose well.
If our mids get on top and hit up the open man going forward i reckon we win.
I would love to hear Malthouses pre game talk to the boys, and also the chat he has to any player who doesnt put his body in when required

Go Blues.... this one will kill them if we beat them

The key though will be the midfield. We've gone from being an elite stoppage/clearance team to a rabble in the space of a pre-season. We need to sort it out ASAP or any structures/gameplans will be superfluous anyway.
Good luck to Sam Rowe and hopefully Dylan Buckley.

Blues by 11 points.

I thought we were pretty average last year in the stoppage/clearance area, elite is a bit over the top. Paul Williams was employed specifically for that role and he is teaching school kids this year.
If we were elite and that was a big part of his portfolio he'd be at another club.
Kreuzer is the key to this game.

No, he just really struggles with spoken English!

Hmmmm, do I go with the actual data or your "thougths"?
Top 4 for clearances in the AFL for the past 4 years = elite to me.

Top 4 for clearances in the AFL for the past 4 years = elite to me.

My actual data is as follows:
One finals win for the last 4 years, the stoppage/clearance coach for 2012 unemployed for his elite work.
My eyes told me last year against really strong, tough midfields i.e. Hawthorn, Sydney and Adelaide we got smashed.

The question for me on this game, and whether Carlton can win, is whether the second quarter in particular of last week was an aberration or a sign of what's to be expected. For a repeat of that over any considerable length of time will equate to a loss against Collingwood.

The loss of Betts can be covered, though not in an easy fashion. Carlton are fielding their strongest side up to the forward 50 that they have for some time, particularly if Laidler and, supposedly, Bell both play. We must assume that Robinson and Gibbs are both right.

With Bell and Rowe guaranteed in the squad, the trimming of the bench is an interesting one. The mere suggestion of Davies is to humour us all, surely and he must be the first of four culled. You would expect (nay, hope) that Laidler is included over White, and it will be at Bootsma's expense. McLean retains his spot, and you'd suggest Armfield - who seems to thrive on these clashes - is an inclusion. That leaves a battle between Lucas and a debut by Buckley for mine. My question mark over Lucas is whether he has the mental edge to be a hard at it footballer. There's a few worrying signs that pressure is not his forte, and the he is coughs it up when the stakes are high. It's a shame because he has the body and athleticism to be a real gun.

Duigan's game was probably one of the worst by any footballer on the weekend, saved further finger pointing because as far as I can see he didn't duck his head in a marking effort. Thank heavens, because everything else was rather woeful by an aspiring leader. Good thing is he has the accreditation to take a good hard look at himself and do some self diagnosis. A repeat surely means some VFL time. He's lucky in my opinion to retain his spot as Bootsma did more to warrant selection over him (with Laidler coming in).

Winning contested ball and clearances will give us plenty of I50 opportunities. Casboult, Rowe, Garlett and I assume Walker (shame as I liked his game off half back) are going to have to pitch in where Betts can't. If we can, Carlton WILL win. It's such a big if.

The time to stand up to the most feral of all teams is at hand. We'll see who has the passion to ensure the Blues make it three in a row. Bring it on!

All week he's carried on about it not being about his dislike for MM.
Me thinks he doth protest too much.
