Counting pre season practice matches now?

I think counting when we beat them last year, when at least officially Worsfold was in charge.

So Teagues half season in 2019 after taking over from Bolton doesn’t count because he was ‘caretaker’

But Rutten’s 2020 counts because he was the anointed ‘successor’

Rightio! Play on, makes more sense than most of Walshys posts in this thread I guess !

You've really got to learn how to use the quote function Walsh. Not as elite at using it as Teague is at coaching sadly.

whatever the outcome of the review there is one question I’m yet to see asked or answered in this thread:

let’s say David Teague is sacked as head coach - can any of you see him being hired by another AFL team?

if he is a talented young coach, then he will receive multiple offers from other clubs due to the skills and decision making he is able to do in a coaching environment.

Haha 99.9 percent of people know the answer to this and .0000001 will have the opposite answer ofc , apparently Teague is talented

I'm thinking that at about this stage, Mr Walsh is making No1 Blue look like a possible candidate for Mensa.

I like your loyalty to Teaguey Mr Walsh, but I suspect even he would cross the street if he saw you coming.

By all means disagree with his opinions. Just don't see the need to get personal.

Pheww have a good authority , its time to start goodbye to Walsh !!

Teague has been advised his services no longer required for next year , just working on settlements and all that crap before offical announcement from the club plus the Eddie betts retirement

Poor Walshy talented Teague gone

It's a shame because we all would have wanted Teague to be successful but he just wasn't up to 2.
I expected him to have a rough defensive mindset (the way he played) but never saw it (it's something we desperately need).
Then I was expecting basic strategic plans before and during games.

Never saw that either...he can't coach...

... AND before some start saying 'ooh, the players... Err.. SOS... Oohh Ahhh pandemic..'. That's part of the coaching gig.. Dealing with those things and still moving forward.

He's not alone..

He'll likely return to being a good assistant coach under such a system, but he's not what we need

Go Blues

Sometimes Murraycray, someone has to point out the absurdity of it all. The world is going to hell in a handbasket and we have posters on here that simply go off the rails. I have no doubt this is all a simple distraction from lockdown. The venting becomes greater as a result. The angst is superficially dialed to 11 for no real reason.

Mr Walsh has been on #11 for awhile now. I'm sure Teaghey would be grateful for the immense show of support, but even he would would tell Mr Walsh to dial it back a tad.

If I have gotten personal (and I really haven't) it is simply because that is the path Mr Walsh has wandered down himself from time to time. He has a big mouth and broad shoulders and is quick to be dismissive of anything not in line with his beliefs, so I'm pretty sure he can see the irony in all this.

Just because he currently has the loudest mouth on this thread doesn't make him the smartest, neatest and most correct in the room.

Blind Freddie can see something is amiss with Teaghey. Mr Walsh thinks Teaghey has been hard done by and is happy to almost tell us why over and over and over.

Perhaps it is time to take a breath and wait and see what unfolds post the GWS game.

We all have a short attention span here (except for Agro who never forgets a grudge) so a week after Teaghey goes, everyone will move onto the next imminent disaster at CFC. After all.......................It's the gift that keeps on giving.

Regards Cazzesman

Whomever is the new coach then had better get us into the 8 next year. All the anti-Teague sentiment needs to be consistent next year.

No truer words have been spoken , at least we show consistency in being a disaster of a club

Whomever new head Coach is it’s going to be a slog next year , one must be realistic, we allowed Teague, 2 years or more of nothingness.
Head Coach, assistants & footy department must all be overhauled and synchronized in the first instance.
Administration has to have a decent review too. Footy club is in a mess.

A part of me hoped the board would surprise us all and back Teague, and surround him with the best people to help him succeed.

By sacking him they're essentially saying another coach will see us make the finals next year

Another poor season and they'll have to deal with mobs and pitchforks at HQ...

Agree it’s a little like that, I feel the anguish for David Teague he truly is a great guy and I was hoping some how he’d turn things around just a little , enough to remain and continue.
However David just doesn’t have the ability to achieve more than he has, other factors corroborating factors massive injuries an ingrained disconnected team culture , and finally a disastrous pandemic all combined brought him down. Hope all the very best for David in his future endeavors he’ll be a great assistant coach at another team.

I didn't expect that we would make the 8 this year. I hoped we would.
What I expected was an improvement in our defensive structure to stop teams going from half back to a shot at goal with ease.
What I expected was defensive pressure from the midfield so that our defenders don't have to be super-human.
What I expected that players like Dow, Kennedy, Fisher, SPS, Stocker, Kemp would get midfield minutes to progress theor development. Not be slotted at half back or half forward.

First The Teague Train and now the RV.

We certainly like our people movers.
