We basically sold it for pick 8 this year.

You'd think that the Cats will finish higher than 11th next year, so 8th this year is better than that. With this new future picks phenomenon, I think people might be forgetting that trading something tangible (ie. a player) for something in the future (a pick), means you're actually going without for a full year.

It is also better having a kid we can develop this year rather than waiting a year.
We have many holes to fill.

If you think SOS is the genius, it probably has to do with some input from Serge as well - a very astute football brain that I'm sure gives valuable advice to Stephen.

Sorry, I didn't realise we got Pick 8 - as you were.

SOS was just on the radio he will save our club
Tomlinson still on our radar
Yarran deal is 12 or he stays
Kerridge was targeted for his work ethic and is an elite runner (direct swipe at Menzel)
Thank you SOS, thank you for giving us backbone and helping us move in the right direction
Im excited to see what he does over the next 2 years

SOS gee whiz... Could be the man!!
Plowman, Phillips, Sumner, Lamb and Kerridge, good gets for next to nothing.
Pick 8 also, Henderson pick next year could be, 13,14,15. Another good get.
If we land pick 12 for Yarran, the rebuild is well ahead of schedule..
Pick 1, 8, 12??, 20 and 21.... Mad..
Think Warnock, White and Armfield maybe in trouble..
Thanks SOS, at least we're having a crack

What a surreal day. SOS must have some video dirt on some key GWS people, it's like a freaking fire sale.

GWS must be putting its farm on this academy tree this it clearly intends to seriously shake.

SOS was quoted today as saying Casboult would be at Carlton next season.

Although it's not impossible, I find it hard to see how the pies can now land Aish after what it paid for Trelour. Unless Brisbane CBF any longer after it's earlier strong stance. Hope it doesn't change, a quality PSD pick would certainly be the real cherry on top.

It's a little of everything: contracts, long term list strategy, list space for academy kids and to facilitate the list size decreasing by two each year until the 2019 season.

SOS genius.....or madman!!! This looks too good to be true. It looks like we are trading talent for grunt. The positions these guys went in the national draft is irrelevant and clearly not able to get regular games...but surely top ten picks have talent, sos knows them well ....i can't help being a bit excited. If two of the GWS boys are long termers - big win, and if we get 12 for Yarran and draft really well - we have to one year- is this the start of the future? Love SOS playing hardball re Yarran. The Tigers are only after him because they think they can turn his attitude around. On talent #12 is steal. This point system / academy bidding is doing my head in.

I think the DVI and trading of future picks has really opened up the system. Love it, just need to make it a trade week not period!!!
