The issue is we don't seem to learn.

Imagine names like Fyfe, Murdoch, Ziebell, Rockliff, Duncan, Fitzpatrick, Barlow, Darling, Neale etc on our list. Would we be a better side?

The problem is you can't get it back. :banghead:

Recruiting has been horrendous. How many chances do they get?

There are a lot more factors that become known afterwards plus we need to be able to get the best out of players - this is the area that is clearly within our control to improve.
Most other clubs would have picked similar layers to us in the same position in the draft and some of them picked other players who turned out to be duds ahead of the guns on the list.
I think we have done two things poorly:
1) we have too often picked players based on potential rather than performance/attitude
2) we do not appear to have the culture or development skills to bring out the best of those we do bring into the club

They get a chance this year and they may get a chance next year and the year after.
If not, someone else will have a chance and so on and on and on and on...................

We should try and be creative and see how many ways we can say the same thing over and over. Is it contagious? Scary.

The club has turned over alot of players since 2004.

There has been minimal turnover of administration since 2004.

why should sticks swan Rodgers and o'sullivan have the right to make the same decisions given their track records?

Let's be clear now. What we're saying is that we haven't learned anything.
That being the case what's the next step as a supporter?

a. Repeat it ad nauseum because it somehow makes one feel better?

b. Admit that you're not happy but will give the recent changes the scope to breathe?

c. Hate on anything CFC which then you have to question why you even bother.
Best to give it away and follow the NRL until something goes wrong there and move on to another sport etc.

Which one or is there an option d?

We all deal with adversity and disappointment in different ways.

Personally, all I want is some answers and communication

then........................some sackings.

That's fair enough but I just don't see petulance as being a particularly fruitful quality.

I read these posts sometimes and imagine children behind the keyboard hitting the keys with clenched fists whilst stamping their feet. :)

You know what I mean?

Imagination can often lead us astray. Don't judge someones reasoning based on your own experience or knowledge.

I don't see it as petulance. It's frustration & anger. Football is about emotion, that's what it runs on.

I have met many people from this website who are nothing like what they seem.

This club can be fixed. A lot of us would just like to something positive.

I was involved at a club that made the tough decisions and went through a massive restructure virtually overnight. Everything from that point was a positive. It was one of the great learning experiences of my life.

We need someone at the top that will make those decisions. I hope MM is doing that.

I'm sorry that what one is left with is frustration and anger as I find them also to be useless emotions.

If frustration and anger get you anywhere let's all be more frustrated and much angrier. Doesn't work does it? :)

Only action can give you anything that may just net a useful outcome but that's much harder and a lot less appealing to most...................so back to frustration and anger.

p.s. Not having a shot at anyone but just for the useless rolling maul that frustration and anger breed.

I find issues like this extremely hard to explain on a website.

Frustration, anger and emotions of such can be an extreme positive. If it doesn't from your perspective fine but for others it can be quite therapeutic.

Anyway off to the Grand Final. Hopefully one day Harks we will get to have a lengthy discussion over a cold beer. I get the impression it would be enjoyable.

Hawks' 3 leading scorers from Friday night were brought in from other clubs, while the 4th was playing his first year.

Something to chew on.

The Hawks are the best at cherry picking players from other clubs that fill needs. Firstly they are a club of choice which makes it a lot easier to get players across and it minimises their risk on not having to develop some players who almost guarantee good performance. As we all know draft choices can be highly risky and often don't work out.

So I've fooled you then.

Just playing devils advocate sometimes Psych. I'm not totally silly even though I may well come across that way sometimes.

Wishing you all a good day today and for however many more we may all have.

I agree with what you say, the thing is that we are going to have to work hard at once again becoming a club of choice for players because we haven't been that for quite some time.
