Unless you can't register on CSC because it's so @#$%&! backwards - seriously - I've never visited there before and it's telling me..

ERROR: The domain or email address you're trying to register with has been used to post spam on the site and is therefore barred from registration...

Can't you just copy and paste? How hard is that?

Sorry woof - that's not in line with the reality - and I don't say that to be a smartarse...rather that's just the way it is. We're talking about a club who is streets ahead of the competition. A club who in 2012 made an operating profit of $8million will use part of that $8million profit to boost their football department expenditure, which this year rose to $21.16 million!

This is a team that has the foresight (and balls) to dump Adidas and own their own jumper - so, instead of an up-front payment from Adidas of probably half a million dollars, they'll get larger proceeds from every sale as the owner, manufacturer, supplier and seller.

This is a club who is building a $36 million redevelopment at Olympic Park, including a $10 million upgrade of the Westpac Centre and a new community centre, with $10 million in funding from the federal government. A club that has the luxury to put 100% of the TV rights money ($2.3million) back into this facility redevelopment.

So as much as it hurts to say it - the rest of the teams (certainly not the ones in Victoria) aren't really in the same league.

$36million to save the boys a 500 metre walk to Gosch's Paddock - I reckon the loss in physical conditioning, cost them a few close games next year as teams over run them in the last quarter.

It is pretty obscene, I'd say thank god for the salary cap except I really don't believe that they are under it anyway

1998 was a pivotal year in the histories of Collingwood & Carlton.

They'll buy it because they're bogans with poor taste in football clubs and everything, yet it's an inferior product according to their supporters.

You could mention that they're also supported by pokies after Eddie went on the warpath over losing that review.

The club could also put 'The BluePrint' on Fox Footy, but they've no doubt worked out they'd actually be giving a sizable donation to McGuire Media if they did this. Yep - Collingwood has an unhealthy stranglehold on this league.

Bogans with bad taste they may be, but Collingwood knows their market, and markets to it, rather than pretending they know better.

KISS.

Collingwood has lots of supporters and lots of their supporters money because they win alot. Every 2.7 years they play in a GF .
Thats why people like them
Thats why sponsors like them
Thats why they attract money

The remedy is simple . Win and they will come

Actually its not touché - the long standing joke to get a rise out of Collingwood supporters of win a premiership in your lifetime died in 1990 - the count is 2 to 1 since that time.

Rubbish.... when Eddie took over they were like us.

Its just a vision a plan restructure.. alot of hard work .. and understand the competition and the market...

When you do all those things its gunna reflect everywhere.... onfield too.

if you look at a club just going through the motions... getting a mill from pne family... 3 from another.. and another mill from other benefactors.. and not really growing the brand from the grass roots up... you can bet on field its the same thing...

winners dont do half the things right.

Sorry Sydney but that doesnt wash.

Our Board and a lot of people around here think a Premiership will solve our problems - but the reality is we wont win a Premiership till we solve our problems.

Greg Swan said it at the AGM - according to the crowd stats and Television ratings we are the 2nd most watched club in the competition - we have an estimated 1,000,000 supporters around the country - but we are struggling to get 50,000 members.

We will probably get to that figure for season 2013 - but we we should really be 60,000.

Now the majority of complaints from members at the AGM were not about us winning - it was about stuff like:

- member benefits - (seats costing too much)
- members services - took me too long to get through on the phone (7 hours)
- members services - there was a "bit of attitude" displayed by our customer service staff on the phone
- members/supporters not feeling included or valued by the Club or Board.

Now Greg Swan and Stephen Kernahan can spin it any way they like and they can SAY that the Board/Club "are working very hard" to fix these issues "they are doing a lot of work in those areas", "they spend a hell of a lot of time" trying to sort these issues out.

But until members see the "Baby" they really dont give to many shits about the "Bath Water".

And utnil these issues are fixed and not being told that the club is trying hard to fix them we will never get anywhere near 60 to 70,000 members - which is where we should easily be.

Fluking a Premiership in Season 2013 wont sort these things out.
