Surprised to see Yarran dropped...while he didnt set the stats sheet alight i thought he looked composed, disposed of the footy ok and looked more comfortable. Dont see him learning much in the Bullants, he needs exposure to tough hard senior footy not B grade football.

Good to see Garlett in...I'd like to see Eddie. Garlett and Yarran working together in the seniors...I think garlett allows Eddie to play other roles which really helps a lot of other players.

Fisher and Houlihan are not the future IMO but I understand the selectors want some experience back in as well as better kicking skills with Houlihan and another forward target in Fisher.

Armfield can consider himself lucky not to have been dropped...his use of the ball under pressure is atrocious. He gives us some run and carry but also gives the ball straight back to the other team too many times and panics in traffic.
Good goer but needs remedial classes 1 and 2 for kicking and i hope he is getting plenty of help in that area.

Russell is another who should have been dropped....not so much skills with Russell but mindset....Knights is a handy player but Russell made a champion out of him last week through not being anyhwere near him on several occassions.
To leave him alone at the ball up near goal was high sschool footy...he should have been manning him up close on his left so even if he did get the footy he would have been forced right but Russell seemed to have switched off in the mind.
At his stage of career you just have to think he isnt progressing and I cant see him staying on the list...

Cheers Budzy........have tried to remain positive about the clubs prospects and kept posts to a minimum
but frustration is building and you will see me posting more as a result.

Boy Glenn Archer has no idea:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/ ... fault.aspx

Quote:
Their backline looks very suspect with the injury to Jarrad Waite. All of a sudden the raw defensive unit – including unheralded names such as Michael Jamison, Dennis Armfield, Paul Bower and Mark Austin – looks a bit suspect up against the likes of Quinten Lynch, Adam Hunter, Mark LeCras and Josh Kennedy, players capable of high quality footy.

Calling Bower and Jamison "unheralded" when they are our two best defenders.....fair enough about Armfield and Austin but he really needs to do more research before writing an article.

I dunno, they're pretty unheralded when it comes to the rest of the media.

The question needs to be asked.... What will the fallout be if we put in a shocker tonight and get beaten by the Toasters ?

Other than supporters lining up to ring talk back 'russell must get dropped' nothing will happen.

I'd hazard a guess and say Synbad might be back and he'll have a bigger army :fight:

Won't happen.
We will win and the structure of the team will be set for a while with Grigg to come back and Scotto (Injuries notwithstanding). Ando, Wiggo and Yarran maybe some time in the future.
This team is more like the one that won theh early games with Houlihan able to play more of a kick to position role through the flood/zone. That's one thing we have been lacking.
Garlett is a will-o-the-wisp the other coaches don't know/rate and so is able to run uncontested to space.
Our issue is half-back and I am hoping Gibbs will play in the mids. We miss Scotland, who plays the sweeper role well and allows Gibbe to move into the midfield.
We will have to protect Judd tonight. He will cop plenty and I wouldn't be surprised if there is a melee or report to a Carlton player reacting to a hit on Judd.
