I know I've said it a fair bit but Johnson should have been kept, there are worse players than him on our list.

It was still the right decision to cut him since I can seeing him hold back Bentick, Blackwell, Smith and maybe Murphy and Hurn from playing four quarters a match. And he's not good enough to make it regardless so I don't understand the fuss made over his delisting.

Johnno is dissapointed and has spoken of mass disunity amongst the playing ranks , spoke of disgruntlement between pagan and senior players and senior players slagging off around the club.

melbourne and north melbourne have contacted brett

Bannister won't be on our list in 2006. If he is it will be as player 38.

As for Johnno, Bentick is the man that cost him his spot towards the end of the year. With Murphy and possible Hurn, Jones or Swallow arriving there is no spot for him.

Don't think anyone should be surprised about disunity - every time that comes last should have disunity, they're professional sportsmen / women (!) and coming last should surely make you question what the hell is going on.

Senior players bagging the club, well you can imaginewhat Campo is saying, and Lappin ain't a well spoken sweetie at the best of times, so I'm sure they're highly annoyed.

So this is all to be expected given where we are. The upside is that all of the young stars seem very happy where they are - Waite loves the guys and the Club, Fisher loves the Club, Simmo has re-signed, AB loves the place, Carrots loves the place... these are the guys whose mood we should be most interested in. And it appears despite coming last that they're lifelong Carlton players.

If the assistant coaches wanted to keep a guy like Brett on, then it doesn't say a lot for their standards, to be honest. The guy's slow and can't kick - what possible reason could you have for keeping someone like that on the list when we've got to give games to people like Blackwell if we're ever to move forward?

The sooner we get rid of all the guys with obvious, fundamental weaknesses to their games, the better.

BJ- OK(accepting his fate).

BJ leaving OO and his phone goes not once but twice. 1st was Libba and 2nd was Mitchell both saying that DP has done this totally by himself and that when the coaching panel discussed the list Johnno was to be retained for another year.

Whether they were covering their arses or not hoping to make themselves as good cop I don't know. I hope this is the case and not that we have a football dept that can't agree with each other now with a whole season of disunity to look forward to.

If you're info is on the money number 10, IMO, that is pretty piss weak form from Libba and Mitchell. Not knowing the context of the decision and the comments I guess it may be foolish to pass judgement, but undermining the senior coach like that should not be tolerated.

As a word of support, each may have jsut said 'Johnno, back luck, we thought you'd get another year but best of luck in future' which through chinese whispers could easily make its way to what has been said.

Mitchell would be close to Johnson and on his trainingand Bullants performances would surely be sympathetic to Johnson. Alas, as JohnM says there is no future on our list for Johnson.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Agree with Mj..Benticks form along with Blackwell and maybe Jessie Smith being promoted have probably put paid to Johnson.
Corey Mcgrath has been re-signed according to some email I got.....I guess you could argue the pros and cons of McGrath vs Johnson....

McGrath is a better runner & better skilled. BJ was better getting the hard pill but McGrath is not too shabby at that either.

I'd say that in two years the team will be almost completely turned over again.

1 year. The contracts of Prendergast, Livingston, Sporn, Longmiur, Chambers and Bannister all finish at the end of next season.

Ha Ha yeah only Bannister Still there, fighting the battle that he might win.
