it's not a quantity thing here, it's the quality.

Whilst there's a lot of disagreement here on TC, that diversity is what makes it healthy.... it all comes from the same place: want to see Carlton great again.

Even you braithy  I think some of the things you say are a bit harsh, use inappropriate language, and sometimes inaccurate, but like you have said that's just you expressing yourself without a filter. Its called passion.

I do believe that there is a lot of truth and accuracy in what you say....and somewhere between your view, keogh's view, who I call the "illusionists", and the view of the "delusional", which I have been called, lies the truth.

Glass half full. Glass half empty. We are all in this together.

I feel for those posters around my circa who have grown up with success, like 99 Prelim, Mickstar, murraycray, Des English, Sydney, and have kids, who have not seen the same success. We only want to share that euphoria with our kids. In the meantime, its here on TC I share ideas and get my reality check as to how far away, or how close success is for us, and discuss that with my boys...not my view, but a summary of all our views on TC. BF is hard work, but love the POV of the ex TCers and 2 or 3 really good BF posters, who reflect the quality on TC.

I'm still very much interested to see what the TC folk have to say. It's also good to vent a little and just have a bit of a mind dump of my thoughts on Carlton under the illusion that like minded people may give a shit about anything i have to say. I'm more likely to be listened to here than in my house. Whether people care or not for my thoughts is largely inconsequential. I find TC therapeutic. Being a supporter of this club requires a much

I just assume nobody gives a shit what I say, so I say what I think.

Sometimes it helps.

Might mention here I find other sites where you can "like" a post convenient compared to having to reply.
Also getting a notification if someone replies is good because you might continue the conversation.
Here someone might respond to you and you won't know unless you look.
I don't know if it's different on the Tapatalk whatever that is?

I believe we all care what each other post Des. Otherwise people wouldn't visit the site.
It's just that we have differing views on some things.

We're also all quite familiar with each others perspective and how they view the football club. And life. For example, when I read the title of this thread, I had a reasonable idea who would express it that way, without looking.

I've definitely lost interest in the mainstream side of footy media this year. Partly because our team's been pretty crap, but as I've banged on about before, there are simply too many shows. Just can't be bothered.

Living in the UK means I don't see any of these, which is handy when we get smashed, as I can bury my head in the sand until the next week.

I don't have any UK mates who follow the afl, and big footy is too much of a pain to go through

Hence, I'm rusted on to TC for the majority of my footy fix, I don't post a huge amount, but I read the majority.

I agree with Keogh, there does seem to be less of us these days.

I miss Tommi's posts, and there seems to be less variety of posters, but I still go to TC for my main footy fix.

I also think the constant mediocrity of the team has caused a lot of us to lose a bit of the passion required to keep posting

You are an important contributor bender. You created the thread "Ruck Debate"

There's a few podcasts and channels I cannot watch or listen to anymore. The vitriol towards Carlton players and people is so awful, it's better I don't hear any of that because all I want to do is ... well, its not healthy. I'm not their psychiatrist and therefore cannot recommend medication.

Cheers BB .... Hahaha

I don't post much, but I read every word. I'd be gutted if this place shut down.

Big footy is a cesspool.

Reddit has no atmosphere.

This is as good as it gets, don't take it for granted.

The thought of all those oppo supporters has always kept me away from bf.

I'm no sugar coater mick.

Illusionists (the window is closed) vs Delusionists (the window is open)

REF: Round 1 game:

Illusionists write off the season despite 22 more games remaining. They create the illusion we are: a bottom 4 team; a team whose chance of a flag is gone; in need of a rebuild; too old; condemned by big contracts; a team with no hope to make finals.

Delusionists consider the loss as a mulligan. They point out possible reasons why we lost such as: injuries; missing 4 of our best 23 forwards; leading by 41 points at half time, we prematurely took the foot off the pedal; we thought we would win the game; most inside 50's but failed to connect and convert.

Illusionists think TC is in demise because of a smaller number of posters than yesteryear. Delusionalists think the site has more quality than quantity now, and there's an audience who read but don't post.

Reddit has a much younger audience, and their main AFL sub is a great example of gene pool pollution anyway

I still enjoy reading TC and after many years you begin to feel like you know the other posters even though we have never met.
I guess our lives often become busy and maybe some of us don't have as much time to log on as often.
I always loved finding out info that hadn't been in the media yet. Now social media such as facebook is the place to find out that sort of stuff.
There were times when things got a bit nasty and I know there are a couple of female posters who do not post here now for that reason.
I find it now to be pretty respectful and hopefully it stays that way.

I’m a reader. I don’t post much.

Have been here for 20 years.

I reckon there’s a few of us about on here.
