Have some perspective:

We’re all pissed off but we’re getting a bit too emotional - don’t ever forget those dark days of 2002-2021. The hawks game this year was the closest we got to that but that’s an outlier and we got decimated in that game.

I think every club in the 8, probably the whole league actually, got pantsed at some point this year.

Interesting almost all our biggest wins were last century, and almost all our biggest losses came this century, except Essendon* where our biggest loss was back in the 1940’s. Ah Essendon*, the gift that keeps on giving.

That's no consolation for me Trav . That first half in a final to boot was the worst I have seen in a life time of following this Club . An all time low for mine .

Yeah, it was pretty demoralising. And after we got that first goal and I was thinking, c'mon lads, just show something for the jumper, at least… well we did that. But to what end? The game was gone, and even though I think we definitely gave the Lions a fright, maybe they had lost some of their intensity knowing a goal or two would likely be enough to kill off the danger of any realistic threat from us.

So, we end up with an honourable loss, that, as we've discussed, was more less set in place at the selection table (noting hindsight clearly benefits this take).

I'd like to see some changes and some ownership of the failures, but I don't want to blow the whole place up.

Great to see you Camel . I think you go back to TBV don't you ? stay around mate . Nah , definitely not blowing the joint up . I"ll go around again next season . In fact it can't come around quick enough for me . Couple of little tweaks here and there and we will still be in it . I don't talk Flags these days , just make finals and see how we go from there .

Got off the phone. Was asked how I'm coping.

I'm usually ok, but as I delve deeper into the season and the last Final, I start to get annoyed in myself and with the MC.

My response was "TC". TC helps me cope and centers me.

Like Mickstar has said many times, we should be grateful TC is made up of a variety of thoughts and opinions we can bounce off, agree or disagree.

Thanks TC.

My thoughts are also with the fans who paid big money to travel and watch that first half, then have to fly home with that result. Very different to last year's loss when we started off 5 goals to zip to allow the dream to stay alive. I'm wondering how they are coping.

you make me smile Mickstar.

Yeah no need to blow up the joint.

I would like to hear some honest appraisal and ownership of failures. That would be refreshing, and probably uplifting. Its not all on the players.

Me about the same . I was at a Friday afternoon practise match with one of my sons . Pagan's first match . Whether we won or lost I can't recall . Anyhow match over and the son and I were going over things in front of the Social Club just chatting away . We got talking to a guy who seemed all over everything CFC . He asked me whether I was on TBV . What's that I asked . So adult son says Dad , don't worry , I'll sort it out which he did and I have been stuck here ever since . And guess who that stranger was who introduced me to TBV ? it was SYNBAD . Yep , my first contact with this amazing site was the one and only Synbad . So I owe the bloke . Thanks Big Sinner . Anyhow , I used to run into him quite a lot back in those days . Really nice type of bloke . Full of charm , intelligent , and very engaging . Of course that was until he got around to our footy club . That's when he went into another gear . Real split personality our Synbad . Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde . The David Rhys-Jones of the keyboard . I actually was a workmate of David many many years ago and you could not meet a nicer bloke . Soft spoken and even gentle you might say . We all know what Rhys was like wen he crossed the white line don't we ? same Synbad . Nice guy till it came to our footy club then he cut loose .

Anyhow , stick around Camel , your input is always compulsory reading .

Coping is easy if you come up with a list of "If Only"
If only Kouta hadn't done his knee
If only we hadn't got busted for the cap
If only we kept our draft picks
If only we didn't appoint Pagan
If only we didn't give up our home ground advantage
If only they paid Walker the free kick against West Coast
If only Ratten didn't have those injuries
If only we selected player X instead of player Y
If only we didn't appoint Malthouse
If only we didn't appoint Bolton
If only we didn't appoint Teague
If only Elliott missed that goal
If only Curnow had kicked that goal in the first which resulted in going up the other end and Hipwood kicking that goal
If only we didn't lose to Crows
If only someone had manned up Daicos
If only someone had manned up Higgins
If only we didn't have all those injuries

Carltons lack of success can easily be justified with If Only

Yes. I'm very grateful we didn't make the trip up - it would have been a very expensive weekend for no return!

I"m sure there will be some honest appraisal behind closed doors Bondi . Hopefully they will be taring strips of paint off the walls ................ I'm a Voss fan , but he's gotta wear this one no doubt .

I flew up. I don’t regret it. Albeit I’m lucky I can secure cheaper flights due to loyalty programs.

I have faith that one day it’s all going to be worth it. Blind, stupid faith

1 point….

we couldn’t even rush 1 behind…!

In nearly one hour of football…!

Not a single point…!

Kindest regards tommi

I’m sick of friends…”checking in” on me…!

I have one saints supporter who gives me grief…
but every other friend genuinely wants to know
how I’m going…they don’t particularly like Carlton…
they just feel sorry for me…!

They’ve felt my pain for years now…!

The majority of my friends are…
Colon-woods…Tiges…Hawkers…and cats supporters…!

It’s been a tough 15 years…!
