2 years out of 3, last minute.

We left boys to do a job the men should have done much earlier.

All lost in the last minute.

Common theme too is defensive 50 groundballs/stoppages.

f'k me ... defensive performance this year has been the absolute worst.

late news: Charlie Dixon is a late out for Port.

TBH I think that helps Port…

TBH that was better than I was expecting. We stuffed it up but with that team against an in-form Saints we played better than I expected.
If we miss finals, it is on our senior players from earlier in the season more than the rookies who were thrown in the deep end over the past two weeks.

Those 3 set shot misses in the first were just as big as kemp's

If we'd got a bit of a lead early it would've been a different story.

That was actually a bloody good effort given the injury list, even though that's cold comfort in the immediate aftermath.

Over to Port to see what they can do

Kemp miss a shocker

But who was responsible for Higgins at stoppage.

I think it was Cowan.

What was it that Andrew Russell said.
" If you are not losing 2 or 3 on the training track you are not pushing them hard enough, you just hope it's not your best 2 or 3"

Shots missed tackles missed are coach killers
But we have had the biggest coach killer of them all for the last 5 to 6 years.

To go into last round with 12 soft tissue injuries and 20 on injury list with only 4 players playing every game and one of them was sub for 2 of them is the reason why we are in this position

Yeah, I can't really fault the blokes who played today. Main problem was slow ball movement, we had no contested marking targets so slow build up play was of no use whatsoever. Once we flipped the switch we gave ourselves a chance. Hewett and Cripps were warriors, Ollie might have had his best game, kids stepped up again, Raz was class when it mattered, Saad kept on going, Pitto and Acres battled manfully, etc.

yeh we were saying we need to get the early lead and get the momentum and crowd up.

Instead we were down at every change.

Speaking of getting the crowd up, that piece of shit who bottled the umpire, apart from being a violent thug who I hope was outed by his neighbours (anyone near by who can attest to aftermath?), he/she also completely sucked the air out of our support, it had been a cauldron of hostility but went quiet for a while after that, and Saints got a run on. So thanks for that, cauliflower.

Currently pacing the footpaths near home. How many days do you reckon I keep walking until the pain goes away?

Lock it in. Fremantle will win. I can finally be put out of my misery. 29 years and still waiting.

moir looked more dangerous than the other 3 small forwards - durdin, motlop and owies. plus he can clunk a mark.

why on earth we went with durdin who squibbed it all arvy (until the final 15 mins), worried about popping his shoulder.

jeez our match committee is vexing with their choices. it's been the one constant in our last 20 years, too. inexplicable decisions.

Huge effort really. Several boys looked very sore including Cripps and Weiters, Durdin.
Goals from stoppages. Never ending theme all year.
Not sure why we play for stoppages instead of wasting time from that last kick in looking for short passes. Geelong/ Sydney style.

flower horrible last 2 months. TDK going down against GWS was the start and it kept getting worse.

I just knew Kemp didn't have the temperament. He has been mentally shot for a few months.
What a shit show.

Plenty to ponder in the off season. The list will look different next year and I'm guessing so will the coaches box.

We all hope against hope. Just have to accept the reality that we aren’t even getting in the vicinity of #17 for another generation.

This group, and club, don’t have it.

Weitering has the body shape and flexibility of a country league seconds player.
