I was expecting a win but I was expecting a margin under 24 points so I was pleasantly surprised as opposed to recent weeks. Really happy to see us get the win despite all the injuries. I hope we flog the Aints next week I can't stand them although I do like how they have Ross as their coach again. So that means they won't be doubling their Premiership Cups anytime soon.

How did the Eagles win any games this year. They were putrid

Bloody hell, what happened to the Rainy Wet Game?

It was Sunshine all over!

Vossy answered our calls and played a Wild Card up forward in Kemp and kept Young back.

First time in a very long time I see the boys hit up Targets on the lead instead of just bombing it long!

That needs to be the great lesson from the day... even when we do have the big boys back. Lower your eyes and honour leads. Yes there are times you have to dump it long, but it shouldn't be the blue print to kick long to a contest.

Great result, thought before the game if we won it'd be by 20 points or so, but then it didn't end up pissing down as forecast.

Credit to Ollie. I had a go at him on here after the Haw game but that was a great effort from no.4 today.

One of those games where everyone played well. Motlop didn't star but that running contest he won against 2 eagles was quality.

Feel a massive sense of relief & much better about the saints game now.

Our kickouts from behinds seemed better today too.

But my gosh the opposition was poor

Huge effort. I was just hoping to see 4 quarters of effort and pressure and we definitely saw that.
I enjoyed Cooper Lords game. He's tough and gives everything he has. His hands were clean off the deck and he sticks his nose over the footy without fear. Ollie looked good in the backline rotation which will help round out his game.
Moir looked really comfortable at the level but what a big game by Cripps in the middle. Well supported by Hewett and Pitto.
Once again a team first job by Matt Kennedy. He just does whatever is asked every week and never fails to commit 100% to the contest and his task.

The biggest disappointment for me was the injury to Durdin. I'm still a big fan of his talent but he just can't get a run at it. His hands on the lead were elite. Especially for a bloke trying to get through the season with 2 rooted shoulders.
Lewis Young makes me nervous every time he gets the ball but his height is a definite requirement in defence until we get someone better.

Well done also to Kemp. He's too adventurous to be a reliable defender but hopefully he makes the 3rd tall forward role his own. His body is more reliable that Martin's and his kicking is better than JSOS' so the opportunity is there for him.

Big congratulations to the coaches as well. They've copped some heavy criticism off some supporters but they helped pull off a real heist yesterday. Great game strategies, players well prepared against the odds and had them executing and believing in a style that suited the limited personnel beautifully.

Lastly, I thought our defending when the opposition had the ball was much better. Offered far less "teasing distance" and forced them to kick down the line a lot more. A much more connected defensive unit.

It's crazy that it's even still possible.

what really stood out was our speed. we didn't look slow around the ball like we have.

the kids go alright. next week, we'll see if they can put that effort and intensity in back-to-back weeks.

Yes it was our first 4qtr effort since the Geelong game.
Very happy with the win but gee West Coast were terrible.

Lord started well then faded a bit. Binns worked his way into the game as it progressed. Moir only had limited minutes, but made an impact.

Can't ask for much more from your three most junior players.

Great to see Maclure's, Jezza's and Kouta's old numbers grace the field once again.

Our small forwards finally managed all to grab a good set of possessions and show their abilities, it shows how much Harry and Charlie dominate our forward structure when playing. Either Charlie or Harry mark or the ball is swept away by the defenders.

I thought Owies and Durdin in particular were important with their quick hands and hitting packs once the ball was on the ground.
