Eagles competitive at home today vs Richmond so we should give them respect, but we should be winning this comfortably.

A few of their players got banged up during the game too, they have had a horrific run with injury.

Cowans for Boyd
I'd rest Cerra play Dow if hammy is tight.
Bring in Marchbank and send Gov forward to play on his brother
Holland or Binns sub
Owies has been troubled by calf all year so leave in out

Prior to reading this post I was thinking Young for Harry, but I like the idea of Gov vs Gov, if Vossy wants to try things.

I really want to see where Cowans is at, and if he can bring his VFL form with him. He's been in an attacking mood.

It is a joke.
Boyd looks like getting more weeks for a tackle than a guy who punches behind play.

Yup speculation is about 3 weeks for Boyd harsh, however the AFL is pressing down on, exuberant & aggressive tackles.

A "soft kill" isn't ideal leading in to a couple of huge games.

I think it's actually ideal, we've been playing a brutal brand of footy the last month.

Also traveled to WA, back vs brutal Port after a 6 day break.

Boys still have to be switched on and in game mode, but unlikely to have to sustain the pressure as much and as long as the past few weeks.

We shouldn't get ahead of ourselves though, just win!

Agree. A couple of soft kills broke the shackles and got our confidence back. We’ve been playing a taxing style of play and a slightly easier week with another confidence building win is probably a real bonus at this stage of the season

Our former Pin up Boy Sam Seton pulled himself out of today's game 10 min before the end with a Quad injury... Looks like he doesn't want to face our boys next week :donk: :donk:

Calling out KC for a showdown is a bold strategy from the MRO. Maybe they think we’re snookered.

If it goes against us at the tribunal, Cowan in for Boyd will work out ok. Even Binns or Hollands, with Doc going back… maybe all of them if McGovern & Cerra are banged up.

Totally agree that we don’t want to flirt with form, and putting Geelong’s percentage in our rear view would give the footy gods one less option for @#$%&! us… but things may have fallen into place that take percentage off the table.

So, the young blokes are in the frame.

Harry will be back, so it might make sense to keep things familiar up forward. Lemmey is maybe not quite ready for the big time, but he can ruck a bit…

Chance to consolidate the great work in defence and be very miserly with WC.

Should put us into 2nd lowest "against" points, then take the lead over C'wood a week later.

Somehow 4 weeks ago they've finally worked out how to capitalise on a tight defence by kicking goals up the other end.

Our flag sides always locked things down at the back first.

I'm against moving Doc. I think he has made too much of a difference on the wing. Having our wingers finally getting 20+ possessions is something we lacked month ago. I would replace Boyd with Cowan or Plowman.

That's the way I'd look at it also.
Doc and Walsh have been killing it on the wing and best of all the forward line would trust them to hit targets inside F50.
Another option could be Acres to HB and Hollands/Binns or LOB on the other wing or just a rotation with Doc, Walsh and Cotts covering the wing with Acres at HB.
Either way it shouldn't make too much of a difference for this game.

So, where has Acres been playing? Just looking at CB's, I'm sure its on a wing.

On the other one (hence Acres to HB), there is two and the players do rotate.

Acres would be in the top 6 players in our B&F season to date (and no worse than top 10)

I’m of the view he has been playing wing….and if he hasn’t…,,the work he does is what we want from a winger. Runs the lines and breaks them….some of his intercepts and cut through against Port were first rate.

Many more positives than his occasional turnover
