The most disappointing season of the last 20 as we were ready to go and expecting so much better. Such a letdown. At least other years we knew we were crap or not quite ready. Playing the worst brand of footy imaginable, can't kick a goal and seemingly don't care where the ball goes when we have it. Thought we were good for top 4 to 6 this year. Instead we will be 14th by the ending of the weekend with 5 successive losses.

How far backwards can one side go.

Like you I was excited about this year but when you start looking at the facts , it was obvious ae ain’t even close , we have been this shit team since 2016 , how any other losing streaks against other teams is there ?? What is the common denominator in all this ? Our senior leaders who are part of this losing culture !!!

Obviously we can trade Cripps unfortunately, club not that bold enough !! But they need to retire dochery at year end , he is woeful , weiter I would love to trade we would get something valuable for him while everyone is feeling sorry for him .. get rid of McGovern absolute bust , off load Zak Williams , start clearing salary cap , this list is soft as butter . See McKay kick in the last qtr as example a!!

Season over and we are not even at the bye yet … wow

Cincotta
Boyd
Dow
Need to play rest of the year … get games into them

I admire his courage but Doc was done awhile ago

Racking up cheap possessions doesn’t help this team

Spare me. Came 2nd in the B&F last year and would’ve narrowly missed the All Australian squad.

Motlop looks slow and off the tempo it’s like opposing players arnt pressured by him at all.

Boyd kicked it at 44%

i think walsh is cooked. he can barely kick 30m and he can't kick accurately at all - post back surgery, this could be it.

Yes, after missing finals by 0.6% playing with half a side all year, and even then missing because we choked the last 2 games we were in control of, I would have thought top 4 to 6 was a natural progression. Then we find ourselves playing the worst brand of football ever and losing 5 in a row. Last year they kept saying we were the most exciting team to watch for much of it. Boy, it has been one of the biggest crashes backwards imaginable. A-League sides find it easier to kick goals.

He does look physically like a different player.

I also reckon Hewett's back op is affecting him.

i didn't expect much from Walsh after that preseason. Should have given him much more time instead of rushing him back. Bad move.

Tackling, decision making, forward craft all awful

Kemp's marking was pretty good & Cincotta did a couple of nice things.

Cerra decent but if I recall, made a couple of blunders in the first half.

This team just makes everything look so damn difficult. Melbourne really should have won by more, lots more, but they just kicked shockingly.

Honestly, if we chose to sit out the rest of the season I'd be totally fine with that.

I just don't care, they really have broken me.

I think what upsets me more is that my daughter, who is 17 tomorrow, finally took an interest in this club 18 months ago.

That's gone well.

Also, we are timid. So timid.

Cotterell gets hit in the head and no one... NO ONE comes in from anywhere.

So damn timid.

Well that went better than expected considering the gap in talent between the two teams. The Dees experience and class too much in the end.

Weitering was excellent I thought

Kemp is a real prospects and not sure why people aren’t talking him up -must get another contract

H was good played well kicked ok for goal
Cerra again good
Agree Cincotta Boyd and Dow should play the rest of season

Terrible Cripps Owies Motlop JSOS Fisher OBrien Cotterell
Can’t win with limited input from all these players

I'd rest Walsh .... definitely needed more time to recover from back surgery. Not a shadow of the player we knew. Rest him, give him a good pre-season and play him in 2024.

I loved the first 20 mins,. Reminded me of early 2022; not the same.
Heaped on pressure early on, only difference was mids kicked goals, and our boys tonight went without reward.
But we did set the scene, and we meant business.

Lets face it, we dont use our TWO Key Forwards enough, and skills continue to hurt.
We cant take the ball coast to coast. I can see why we gold onto it and slow down play.
So, we try our hardest to absorb whatever the opposition throws, without risk, and ...

I know our phases aren't in sinc.
Its a game of 360 degrees on a 200 x 150 metres and no off side.
Maybe the game plan doesn't sinc enough to win a game.

We need more tricks.
Bombing it to the square I get, when theres a pack, top of the square and smalls ready to pounce.
But it doesnt work like that. That's a game situation play, not a strategy.
And, if it the strategy, dont bomb it to CHF, coz there is no snap at goal.

Im being picky.
Good effort by the boys.

Now its 8 wins from 10 games we need for Finals, if we are lucky.
Mathematically, at round 13, we can still make Finals.
How far we have slipped back...going at it since 2015.

Great to see Paddy Dow out there with his mate LOB.
We are a bit off. About 10%, whatever that means to you.

Effendope next week.
