With the injury loost we have compared to theirs.
X and our under strength (makeshift) defence, we rallied well and there’s lots to like.

6 set shots missed
Some questionable 50/50 decisions
3 score reviews went against us.
5 to 6 better players out.

All this could have won us the game but you conceed 70 plus inside 50 you lose.

We have last 3 games appeared to be happy to lose clearances and use numbers back to try and slingshot

Maybe this is just part of the development but I would much rather the numbers at the contest and win the stoppages

Just watched that score review again. Those fingers were seriously wobbling before the ball got to his hand. Jason Dunstall thought it was a ridiculous overturn.

Fair chance it cost us the game. How much do those idiots get paid in the Arc again

At the start of the season we the ruck would drop the ball into the circle Cripps would take it and handball to someone on the outside. Opposition worked it out and it nullified our strength. With TDK not a finished product we can’t rely on ruck dominance meaning we’re having to rove to the opposition, it’s just too hard

Dumb football. You can't give up 6 goals to 0 to start the game and get away with it. The Teague train was back in town.

More injuries.

The score reviews just mind boggling.

Set shots horrible.

76 inside 50s.

And for all that we were a chance. @#$%&! frustrating.

Teague was in the other box. We decided to make him feel at home . Lol.

As Voss keeps saying, we’re far from the finished product - and injuries are making a hard job harder for us - but I guess the positive is that, despite being down for most of the night, we were still able to get ourselves into a winning position in the last term against a good opponent. A bit more luck in the last 10 minutes and we win. Same story as the Collingwood game.

but honestly, we are a 9 and 4.

lets think about that for a moment .... coming from what we are used too ...

a silvangi snap against the pies, a rubbish goal review against the tigers ... we are so close ... so close, consider our injuries its even more impressive.

No no no no no.
No what ifs in football.
The score is the score.
We lost.
Smashed at clearances.

100%

Some of our supporters will use any excuse.

I thought by and large we busted a gut in the end, just lacked some polish and smarts to pull off the upset.

Let’s think big picture.

A win next week which I’m confident about and we have banked 10 wins!

Our resilience as a group is miles ahead of last season, win or lose.
We just need to keep working on synergy and skills.
Still a tough loss though.

Not too concerned yet, just frustrated. We are having one of those mid season flat patches which sides get. We'll come out of it.

I just got home from the game.
Tiggers kicked the ball off the ground a lot. It seemed every time they did this it went straight to one of their players :banghead:

Outcoached.
I'm a mug supporter but even I knew we had to change our strategy if the conditions are wet.

Quote:
Rain would help them. Their game plan is based around long kicks and continual movement.
They just want the ball in space to run onto it and they'll do anything to get it out of contest. knock ons, kick it off the deck, anything.
We handball, mark, handle and dispose of the ball more than any other team. They're ranked in the bottom 6 for both.
We want dry weather IMHO.

It's all good and well to want to play "your way" but when your way isn't suited to adverse conditions, you adapt.
We massively overpossessed the footy early and the game was gone.
The coaches should be @#$%&! ashamed of themselves not to have the players prepared to play territory football.

If we could kick straight from set shots then....

The overtruned goal cost our momentum...

All I wanted this year was a team who is competitive and fights games out...

It takes two teams to make a great game of football, the tigers were tough for longer and played the conditions better than us...

You win some and lose some, tonight we lost...

MOVE ON TO NEXT WEEK

So proud of the boys.

We was robbed and we fought so hard against the tide of injustice.

Not being biased I had to explain the ' rub of the green' to visitors today to give that umpiring performance a semblance of definition. Prix

Thank you Jason Dunstall who could see the injustice of it all as his sycophant co hosts went along with the assault.

Get stuffed to anyone who blames the loss on anything but the umpiring. That obvious. I feel raped by the AFL. Ups had an agenda from the outset.

I would not want to be in the Saints' shoes next round.

Why the Saints' shoes?

The team is only as good as the one on the field.

The one on the field did not adapt to the conditions. Later in the game the conditions adapted to the team. Too late.

Tiges adapted and won. Simple really.

Wet weather style football is Rich bread and butter gameplan...we practically gift wrapped them the game with our approach
So flowering frustrating

Sorry bondi...you are a very reasonable and fair poster but that comment is something I will disagree very strongly with
I agree we missed out on a few 50/50 decisions, including the goal review...but the coaches must take the blame for not telling them to get it I30 any way they can and the have the smalls surround the ground ball area...Richmond's natural gameplan is territory/chaos...its wet weather football in wet or dry weather...we played right into their hands
Did you notice we played well whenever the conditions dried?

An injury too far tonight - plus having to deal with Nathan “The Cheat” Williamson.
