Martin will miss 1-2 weeks (aka he's dead).

Their ball movement to the forwards is rubbish. If we come to play we will win this game. It's all above the shoulders.

GWS have a decent squad...they just can't seem to get it to click together as a team. But that could happen in any given game.

Looking forward to this match...we need to take this opportunity to get the 2022 interstate monkey off our backs & get some confidence for our 3 travels at the back end of the year. It won't be easy.

Hewitt (if available) for Martin seems right, but it’s not the “like for like” selection we’ve been seeing under Voss. So it wouldn’t surprise me if Cottrell comes into the 22 for Martin.

If Hewitt is available, someone else needs to come out. It’s probably a choice between Carroll, LOB or Newnes - with Cerra/Walsh spending more time on a wing. In that event, Newnes will probably be the unlucky one and become the sub.

So….

In - Cottrell, Hewitt
Out - Martin (inj), Newnes
Sub - Newnes

Or, if Hewitt doesn’t come up….

In - Cottrell
Out - Martin (inj)
Sub - Dow or Setterfield

I don’t think there’s a need to rush Stocker back. Hopefully he’ll be ready for the Swans game. I imagine he’ll take the place of Newman when the time comes.

Boyd vs Plowman? It may depend on match ups, but my preference is to stick with Boyd for now.

Who plays on Toby Greene?

Not Lachie Plowman.

It doesn’t matter, let them worry about who plays on Cripps, and who plays on Cerra, and who plays on Walsh, and who plays on Curnow, and who played on Harry, and how do we stop the run of Saad, Docherty & Williams.

Exactly!

I'm pretty sure we can do both at the same time...
There are a couple of their players I'd just make extra sure have a bit less freedom than they might wish for incl Toby and possibly Whitfield.
For Toby, I'd stick someone experienced enough to not get sucked in but fast enough to cause Toby to have to worry about too.
For Whitfield, could be a perfect defensive forward role for Durdin or Owies.
The only other thing I'd make sure about for them is that Preuss doesn't get to smash them into TDK without consequences.

TBH, I don't think any of that takes away from our game plan at all.
And then.... unleash Crippa, Big H, Charlie and Co.

I thought Zac Williams was terrific and his aerial stuff much improved. Maybe he gets Toby Greene.

Agree I would put Williams on him. Knows Tobys game and if I were Voss I would really challenge Williams to do a job for the team.

Good Point.

Adelaide came to play and win last week.
They worked hard in the first 2 quarters where they were hit hard.
Effectively their mids were beaten up by our mids, and the game was played on our terms thereafter.

I still have nightmares at the thought of going to GWS Stadium.
Its about time we beat them up for all the smashing they have done over the last 6 years.
Its pay back time, but we have to have that killer mentality to get over them: they're desperate for a win.

Agree Williams.
Where do we send this consensus vote to? M.Voss@BluesPremiership.com.au?

If Hewitt gets up, push Kennedy to HFF to take Martin ‘s spot.
Would love to find a way to get Dow in - he was good at the end of last year and from what I have seen in the vfl, has only improved since then. Too good a talent to throw away. Why not try him in owies spot? He would be handy in the F50 congestion - lethal step and burst.
May lose some tackling pressure but gain a significant problem for the opposition backline
Should at least give him some opportunity to practice other positions in the vfl
