Just ruck Casboult and McKay. Don't care if we don't win a tap out, you can rove to the opposition, both would be valuable around the ground.

The problem is we are running out of midfielders that can rove at a stoppage.

We hardly got any against Geelong.

Even more reason not to bother too much as to who rucks.

We're way too top heavy and our zones and defensive pressure are breaking down because of it. In the first half of the seasons teams would struggle to get it out of our half. We were hard to score against and hard to beat. The last few weeks they just stroll up the middle like it's a training drill. We need more run. It only takes one cog in the system to fail and the whole thing falls apart. A couple of percent off and you get torn apart

I agree. We've been to too heavy all year.

No need to play Simon White or Macreadie when we have enough talks down back. Simon White is a waste of space.

Saying that, when the teams came out thurssday night and seen White and Marchbank in I thought to myself Bolts has to be tanking for sure.

I'm surprised no one In the media has discussed this. He brought in 2 tall players when this team
Is crying out for some players who can run.

Surely Bolts would be better off playing, Schmedts, Boakhurst or Picket ahead of Simon White.

I'd like to see a couple of the young blokes get a break this week to freshen them up mentally. I'd like to see Fisher have a run in the middle for the VFL and just go out and chase the footy.
For me, Weitering (Rest), Fisher (Managed in the VFL) and either Daisy, White or Lamb out.
Williamson to the wing to release the shackles a bit and give us improved delivery forward of centre.

Bring in Pickett, give Cuningham a run off half back, Byrne to replace Doc in the backline, Smedts to the midfield rotation, Docherty to the midfield rotation and KJ to half forward if Kreuzer misses and Casboult takes the ruck.

Simpson Jones Plowman
Byrne Marchbank Cuningham
Smedts Gibbs Williamson
Wright Curnow Kerridge
SPS McKay Pickett

Casboult Docherty Murphy

Lamb Silvagni Thomas Jaksch

A bit more run in defence and midfield flexibility.

These bastards don't deserve to be in the league, let alone the eight.

C'mon Blues!

I like your thinking BV.

I'd put in Macreadie instead of Thomas. That means Jones can be released into the ruck if needed. Macreadie is pretty mobile for a tall guy. Other than that I agree with everything else

Id love to see Jones play first ruck of K is out. The obvious negative is after a career of mediocrity he has finally found his calling as a backman so breaking his momentum might not be technically the smart thing to do but from a selfish point of view I'd just plain love to see it. His breakout game in the VFL was in the ruck, before he played down back. BOG.

Great ideas. It is the time of the year to find out as much as we can about the list. It wont hurt in the long term.

I like the Fish idea, but then again, the more games he experiences at the highest level, especially when the results don't matter, the better he'll be in the long run.

I think BB loves/obsessed on players to learn play through pain and endure. Maybe they did that a lot at the Hawks hence their physicality.
I think that's what is happening with Weiters.
Weiters hasn't been 100% since the major corkies he copped in the first 2 rounds and many more hits thereafter.
He seems to have played injured all year.

I'd like to see

IN: Byrne Pickett

OUT: White Thomas

B: Marchbank Jones Byrne
HB: Docherty Weitering Plowman
C: Williamson Gibbs Simpson
R: Kreuzer Kerridge Murphy
HF: SPS Casboult Lamb
F: Wright McKay Curnow

INT: Cunners Pickett Fisher Silvagni

If Kreuzer is rested then Casboult as ruck, Weiters at CHF and Macreadie at CHB.

Lamb could give others a go... Boeky, Smedts...that's it. The cupboard is bare.

We obviously need more quality mids in 2018 and 2019.

If Fisher or Weiters are genuinely carrying an injury which will impact their performance then rest them. VFL wont assist their rehab.

Thomas/Lamb/White outs. Bigger body Smedts in. Give Pickett another go. Consider Byrne as well.

KJ is the unknown.

Either way Daniher is playing with supreme confidence and l'd give Jones first crack at him.

Byrne and Buckley both listed as tests, but with an expectation they'll play at some level. Graham rubbed out for 2 weeks in the VFL. Kreuzer recovering slowly.

I changed my mind. I forget how well Jones went in the ruck in the NBs. He starred. If Kreuzer is out Jaksch in for Jones spot and Jones and Casboult to ruck.

I don't mind if KJ gets a run but doesn't it have to be up forward? His decent VFL games have been forward but he hasn't had a single decent game down back has he? Happy to stand corrected as I'm just going off match reports not first hand opinion. The problem is who do you drop from our forward line? I know people will say Cassbolt but that will never happen, nor should it.

Bummer about McKay and Cunningham. @#$%&! you spellcheck.

Jaksch replaces Kreuzer if he's still crook?

Pace injection.

Hope Pickett does something to cement himself.

Fingers crossed for an injury free weekend.

If KJ can't get a game with a key forward and two key backmen out then I wouldn't hold my breath even if Big K is a late out.
