I think much like the players Bolton is developing as a coach.
He is still a rookie and is learning each week.
He is going to make mistakes just like the players.

Pros:
We did not give up all day
Young players had their moments at various stages - cannot wait till it is for longer periods
Defence did a sterling job given Saints inside 50's
Cripps, Murphy & Docherty were pretty good
Sizeable CFC fans in attendance
Enjoyed the biffo and it appeared so did the players

Cons:
I thought we lacked a bit of polish & run
Number of players had quiet games
Levi was poor and the gulf b/w his best & worst is too large. At a minimum he should put a few of their defenders out of business

I try to avoid blaming the umpires because generally they get things right and you are left with 50/50 decisions for both teams right across the game...

But the thing that really bothers me, and it's not exclusive to today's game, is when a game has been an arm wrestle for the entire match - goal for goal - and then, an umpire pulls out a 50 metre penalty on a fatigued 18 year old kid to move the ball to within scoring range with five minutes remaining in the game. The resulting goal places the game in a position where the competition has ended due to a score that has been manufactured rather than played for.

This isolated act impacted the result of the match in a completely unfair way that places game's integrity into question.

The game is not resolved by two teams playing on a level field. It gets decided on the whim of an official who gets a rush of blood and wants to be involved in the drama of the game.

It killed what was an intriguing contest between two very even teams...although one team with a six point bonus when they needed it most.

Levi didn't have a great game but it wasn't terrible either. We would have been eminently worse without him. He hurt several Aints today including crashing a pack to put Carlisle out for a while.

Levi - 8 disposals, 4 marks, 12 hit outs.
C Curnow - 8 disposals, 5 marks, 1 goal.

I thought Charlie had a good game. Levi with similar stats wasn't as impactful but he wasn't that bad.

Yeah totally agree. Definitely. His last few weeks have definitely been better than today.

Averages 1 goal a game. Based on that, his two goals last week covered him this week as well
Can we please bring in Jacksh and send either Whilte or Casboult back to the NBs???

Jacksh has done nothing in the Northern Blues games this year to deserve a call up. Levi might have had a quieter game this week but given Jacksh has not played 1 decent game for the NB's I do not understand people requesting Jacksch to get a game in the seniors. He has to earn it.

Levi was terrible. Agree there isnt anyone better but the writing is on the wall that we cant take the next step with him as the key forward. If he gets offered to move clubs we should take the compo and run.
