Big win for the Blue Boys and the beginning of the end for Hardwick.

Yep, fingers crossed.
I actually feel sorry for Hardwick, he's been over achieving for years and it will end with the Tigers thinking their list is brilliant and he is underachieving....

It is he who has been deluding himself and the tiggies supporters. Will only have himself to blame.

Mind you they have picked up a couple of good runners so something may just happen.

It's more their recruiting and trading (same as us in the past). They go after the right 'types' just don't get it right. (Hampson anyone?)

Hardwick then has to make do... and IMO he's done alright

INJURED Carlton star Patrick Cripps is in no danger of missing round one, according to Blues leadership group member Sam Docherty.

Cripps was diagnosed with a stress reaction in his lower back late last month, an injury that is expected to sideline him until late February.

The Blues midfielder was an onlooker during the club's pre-season training camp at Southport Football Club on the Gold Coast on Sunday and will be on a modified program for most of the summer.

But Docherty said he had no doubts Cripps would be ready for Carlton's round one clash against Richmond on March 23.

"He's a resilient bloke and he's very professional. The aim is for round one and he's doing his rehab according to that," Docherty said.

"He'll be fine, I guarantee he'll be ready to go.

92 days to go ... I'm excited.

Go Bluebaggers!!!

There's a bloke in the west we might consider recruiting next year ... Chris Yarran I believe is his name.

We will start as underdogs

but if we win this.... Hardwick will really be on the ropes...

They will be straight onto the phones to Finey

I reckon we will pump them. The beginning of the end for the Tigers ... The start of something special for the Blues.

If we win the midfield, we win the game. They picked up a couple of handy midfield players to cover the loss of Delidio.
Yarran will be sorely missed from last year's game.

Hang on...

Can't wait for Round 1. Should be a cracker of a match.

Seen someone here suggest playing Weitering up forward, think that would be a good idea, alsong with SOS and Cas to chip in. Will McKay be ready for his debut?

Have you guys heard much about SPS?

I'm hearing very good things about the kid, is apparently a consummate professional, works his butt off and very highly regarded by the likes of Neil Craig and the coaching team.

Would love to see him turn it on against the Tigers although I know it's only his first year can't put too much pressure on the kid early.

But unfortunately we drafted him before the big Victorian clubs had a pick. Oh well, he'll just have to settle for a small Victorian club. Hope we do well with him.

Just a reminder, 2013 elimination final when we won from ninth. This is the Carlton only highlights.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_IHFFX8tYc

I just watched and enjoyed that!

From that game we no longer have Judd, Waite, Betts, Robinson, Henderson, Touhy, Garlett and Bell who are playing for other clubs.

Plus quite a few that aren't. Duigan with four and virtually never seen again.

Just wondering how we would go if they were all available for Rd One.

Betts would get a game, Judd, Waite, Robinson (probably), Hendo (who knows?), Touhy yes, Garlett in form for sure and Bell possibly not.

Onwards and upwards. We can't change anything but if MM hadn't ripped the heart out of them we might be a lot better.

Menzel would still be better than Lennon...

Think about Curnow, McKay, Plowman, Phillips, Summer, Lamb and Cunningham.

Would they be better off with Yarran in awesome form like he was in two years ago?

Definitely, but they've picked up Prestia, Caddy and Bolton with Carlton getting SPS, Marchbank, Pickett and Fisher. We've snagged three elite kids and Fisher, but they've got two walk up starts plus Ellis, Rioli, Bolton, etc. to come up against Fisher, Cunningham, Sumner and Boekhorst.

Our spine is weak due to our big forwards poor compared to our KPD. Midfield would need fire to remove Riewoldt and Rance from the equation. Murphy is back, but Cripps isn't even training. Awesome.
