if we bring the same attack on the footy we win.

if we bring the same umpires, they will win it for us

Just checked the Herald Sun's 'Barometer' Injury update.
It appears we have several players with MULTIPLE injuries. e.g. Ed Curnow apparently has a 'knee' as well as a 'left knee' injury.
We are stuffed.... http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/footy-form/afl-injury-list-injuries-to-key-players-strike-western-bulldogs-west-coast-in-round-22/news-story/3fa0837a895acbebee66be2d1df25a02

Yup.........

this match reminds me of literally an exact
same situation i found myself in...!

it was a breezy Wednesday afternoon that late autumn
day...when we were lining up for the U16 boys
100m at Cranbourne High...!

the track was on a slight decline...but was offset
by the very same steady head breeze mentioned in the
last paragraph...!

i felt like i was slight favourite...which was confirmed by
Mr Almond our music teacher at the start line...he
looked over at me with a grin and said..."I'm on you"...!

hmmm....I've just stopped to roll a cigarette and thought
about Mr Almonds' comment...and how Mr Almond

have visits from students after hours...and how
Mr Almond racked up lines of...stuff...on his desk in
his private music room office...!

not allegedly either...!

i may or may not have changed Mr Almonds'
name...may he Rest In Peace...!

so aaaanyway...my only real threat was pretty
surfer boy Byron Exner...with his flowing mid parted
hairstyle and wry grin...!

i knew if i finished in front of Byron I'd win...!

the give away for the confidence was...that
only Byron and i were wearing spikes...enough said...!

we took our marks...i was ready...bring this chit on...!

BANG...we're off...I'm running well...i didn't turn
my head at all...just went...!

at about the 80m mark i notice people across the
finish line...the were waving their arms frantically...what
the hell i thought...only to be told it was a re start...!

i make my way back to the start...only to see Byron
Exner still standing there...with his hands on his hips
and that stupid grin...!

apparently he missed the start...but claimed he was
trying to stand up because he wasn't ready...!

the grin said it all...COME on MAAAN...!

so there we were...i had to go again...he for the first
time...!

even Mr Almond was thinking about jumping
off me...especially now that Leif Garrett was the
favourite...!

we took our marks again...i was nervous...i was
shaking...but i was £#@&ing angry...!

we were off...this time i turned twice...once after
15m to see if he started...and the second time 10m
from the end...just to see how far behind me he
was...because he sure as £#@& wasn't going
to be in front of me...!

KSSSSSS...good guys win...bad guys lose...!

EXACTLY like the game this week...!

sure it would've been better if Byron Exner was
an Ess n Doomed supporter...and we were both
wearing club colours...and bouncing a football...!

but hey...!

all i know is...not even a 7 year old Usain Bolt
would've beat me that day...!

let alone Mr Almond...!

kindest regards tommi

Ah Tommi, you bring back some sweet memories. I too fondly remember that running track at Cranny High with the slight decline (produced some great times there) and of course Mr Almond (whose name may or may not have been changed to protect the innocent). You're right, this time of the year - the smell of the cut grass, always brings back memories of the school athletic carnivals. Thanks!

Yes the smell of freshly cut grass and school athletic carnivals - always a great time of year.

Obviously want to win this match however not by too much as we might overtake Richmond on percentage - especially if they get flogged by the Swans.

Given the fact that clubs that pick after Richmond often find guns of the game

e.g. Pavlich after Fiora, Franklin after Tambling, Cripps after Lennon, Heppell after Conca..

it could be a good thing?

Valid point.
By the way you forgot Vickery and Oakley Nicholls (can't remember who was picked after them however).

Didn't we win our last game in 2013 v Port to sneak into the finals via '9th' ?

Yes but apart from the last games we've won, we haven't won any.

Meh, is there going to be much difference between those picks?

Isn't the top 10 fairly even this year?

We did. My wife told me she wanted to separate the next day (Fathers Day). #truestory
