Casboult and a lot of others - for every 3 good things they do there's 6 bush league clangers that kill you

We need better quality players to improve that ratio

Stupid rhetorical question - why can't the rest of our forwards lead towards the ball like Jack and create space between themselves and their defender?

Not sure what you were all thinking was going to miraculously happen this year. Seriously we are in rebuild and I would hazard to guess that a few players today may not be with us next year. If you are looking for a quick fix then Mick Martyn sends his love.

Because you don't learn that in team bonding sessions talking about KPI and looking at flow charts and graphs and GPS numbers.
This side needs to be coached not have feel good lovey-dovey talks about journeys and what it means to play for carlton.

On the other hand, Keogh, you were wrong.

You don't have to be a paid expert at something to see faults in it.
You don't even have to be an expert at anything to be a sarcastic prick but you probably knew that already. I'm sure you've been told before.

I'm pretty at the fact we let them get forty points up, and have their best first qtr in two years

They couldn't beat that rabble even when they couldn't get a touch of the football.
Our foot skills are so shit in front of goal we are just throwing opportunities away and even at the death when cool heads were needed and a bit of system, they just kept doing what has lost them games every week and bombed it long.

Anybody who thinks that last quarter counts for anything is delusional. We are in serious trouble and any amount of love and player involvement from the coach can't make a shit game plan look good. It needs a massive overhaul, especially since it is defence based. Any team defence that lets Brisbane score 7 in a quarter is doing something very wrong.

They waited almost three quarters to run the ball. Buckley first and then Simpson, Touhy and Boekhurst but it was too little too late. When they start off like that they are a different team. Why Bolton has them playing kick and mark/turnover football amazes me. I watched the Dogs and Collingwood last night and we are a mile behind both of them in the style of football we play.

Kreuzer is shot.
3 kicks, two ineffective
One mark
Five frees against
One dropped mark that led to a goal.
Not many handballs I can remember
A few hitouts against a basketball player.
Worst game he has played for us for the year. Maybe longer. Get rid of him. Tell everybody he is injured to save face.
Weitering looks injured in the trunk.
Cripps is going to end up crippled.

I am not happy with any team aspect of that debacle. A few individual plusses and that's it.
Melbourne could well beat us by 60 points next week.

Kreuzer got 14 touches, 10 kicks. did better than you thought I saw/heard nothing during the first half but listened to the 2nd half on the way home. Heard his name quite alot. So i'm guessing his first half was very bad. Phillips got 5 touches.

We really do need to drop a ruckman. As we've seen Casboult is twice the player when he has key position help, even if Jones was shit, and can move around more without 3 defenders on him. Will do even better if he can get a run on the ball and grab some marks around the ground as it suits him. Dropping a ruckman means we can pick another runner. The change in mobility would be alot.

Interesting. I counted his kicks as they happened. He may have had some off the ground in packs I missed. And I did cross to TC a few times but 10? Hmmm. I'll have to watch the tape during the week and look or any sprouts.
Regardless, he had a shocker. He wasn't alone in that regard.

No your wrong sydney. ..we celebrate diversity, we celebrate tribes, we celebrate the journey, we celebrate respect for women, orange socks, womens league..but we still dish out that putrid performance to tell the footy world that we are still a crap football club...

At the start of the year nobody thought we'd win more the 3-4 games. Then we got on a hot run and expectations rose, but it's time to lower the expectations again. We simply aren't very good. Kerridge, Phillips, White, Jones, Wright, Buckley and Armfield are depth player. You won't win a lot of games with all of them playing together. Add in some young guys like Plowman, Boekhorst, Silvagni, Weitering & Cuningham, who are all still learning the craft, and over half of your team is made up of guys who probably aren't quite at the required level. So then you're reliant on your senior core. Simpson, Docherty, Cripps, Gibbs and to a lesser extent Curnow and Tuohy are high quality players that can be relied on. Rowe, Casboult, Kreuzer & Thomas are also experienced players, but can't really be relied on for consistent AFL standard play. So 6 players that are genuine, AFL hardened, quality.
Let's get realistic again and recognise that we're still at the ground level of a rebuild and we need to bring further talent into our squad while phasing out that considerable list of depth players and unreliable senior players.

Bolton: It was a tale of two halves .We had a lack of defensive intent in the first half. The second half was spirited. #AFLLionsBlues
Bolton: We'll challenge our first half really strongly in our review. #AFLLionsBlues
Bolton: We never underestimated Brisbane. We never underestimate anyone in this competition. #AFLLionsBlues
Bolton: We need to be a team that drives towards a strong finish at the end of a season. #AFLLionsBlues
Bolton: We showed legs in the second half. We're not running out of legs. We need to bring pressure & effort for 4 quarters. #AFLLionsBlues
Bolton: @patrickcripps plays with effort regularly. For him to come back under duress was a positive. #AFLLionsBlues
Bolton: David Cuningham and @jacksilvagni showed positive signs today. #AFLLionsBlues
